I watched a few more episodes, up through episode 1103, last night. The kids are feverish at Windcliff -- it seems like it's an attack from Gerard. Julia tries to help them while Barnabas stays with Maggie, to keep her safe from Secret Vampire. Tad tries to summon Gerard again with Daphne, but Julia puts an end to it. She gets Daphne to agree that they both have the well-being of the kids in mind -- but which kids? Daphne won't sacrifice Tad and Carrie for David and Hallie.
Anyway, those kids, whoever they are, leg it out of Windcliff the first chance they get, but don't feel safe at Collinwood, so they take refuge in the cemetery. At the mausoleum, they see Secret Vampire getting out of their coffin, so they can't stay there. While walking through the woods, they find the body of someone, presumably a stranger, killed by the vampire.
Julia hypnotizes Daphne into giving her backstory. And Daphne also says that she herself is destined to be murdered, and Rose Cottage will be destroyed TONIGHT!
Also, apparently Stokes' trip to Europe is inexplicably back on the table. Despite the fact that he now knows he was (or will be) in Europe at the time of Collinwood's destruction, he goes to Europe anyway, for no stated reason. For all intents an purposes, except for one more brief appearance, we have seen the last of T. Eliot Stokes. Also, 1103 marks the last appearance of Hallie. (Yay!)
A few more episodes now: I've seen through episode 1106. It turns out that it's episode 1104 that's a wrap for Mrs. Johnson; she's knocked unconscious and left unceremoniously on the rug in Maggie's room for eternity. These shows shift the plot away from the Gerard story to the Secret Vampire story, as Julia and Willie go out to the crypt and discover the coffin there... and inside is Roxanne! They had planned to stake the vampire, but as it turned out to be Barnabas's one-sided lady love from another dimension, they instead bring the coffin back to the old house and chain it up there. Then Barnabas learns its Roxanne, has Willie unchain it, wakes Roxanne up, and Julia has to pacify her with a crucifix. Then she's chained up again. Barnabas (who, when lovestruck, is the dumbest undead guy on the planet) thinks he can change her, and is willing to risk Maggie's life to do it. But while he's brooding, Sebastian creeps into the Old House and opens up Roxanne's coffin, holding a hun to her head, about to fire.
Which isn't exactly the most gripping cliffhanger, as a bullet shouldn't affect her at all, correct?

Is it? Hmm... Well, 1106 is the last we'll see of willie Loomis. (I told you not to get too attached to him.) We'll see more of John Karlen, and Thayer David as well, but no more of their signature characters (except that one scene I mentioned before for Stokes).

Oh, I thought we'd eventually get a reason for his sudden trip to Europe! I guess I was expecting too much. I'll be sorry to see Stokes go.
But Hallie? Good riddance!
