Jeff, your Alternate 1840 idea tracks with the weird new backstroy they've given Angelique -- instead of a maid in the Carribean, she's now a New Englander at least 150 years old who used to go by the name of Miranda, and whose testimony condemmed Judah Zachery to be beheaded for witchcraft.

...yet, she was somehow also Angelique and involved with Barnabas and the Collins family some 40 years prior. It just doesn't make good sense.
I've seen through episode 1154/1155, which puts me on track through the end of June (since I'll be away from streaming for a week or so). Roxanne is dead, her brother Randall has been murdered, Barnabas is in seclusion, Gerard has choked Desmond with voodoo, Quentin is under suspicion for it (though strangely Gerard is slow-walking the suspicion, always demanding more evidence, even after framing him for it!), Hatch doesn't trust Quentin or Barnabas (and has heard his ancestor jangling chains behind the walls in Barnabas's basement!), Daphne loves Quentin now but Gerard has used magic to draw her to him, Angelique and Julia have reached a brief detente (and Angelique has seen that the head of JZ is responsible for the recent witchy goings-on), Edith has the hots for Gerard and despises her husband Gabriel (with good reason), and most of the original cast members are superflous.
I might catch another ep or two tonight, but I doubt I'll write about them until I'm back from vacation. I'm hoping to see through episode 1170 by the end of July... just 90 episodes left!
Hermes Press presents an original graphic novel adding a new chapter to the classic vampire/gothic romance universe of DarkShadows-The Curse of Dark Shadows with a spell-binding script by Craig Hurd-Mckinney and artwork by Jok. This graphic novel presents a tale of drama and suspense: Carolyn Stoddard-Hawkes made a deathbed promise to her mother. But, in order for Carolyn to complete that promise, she must rely on the one person in the world she doesn't want to see: vampire Barnabas Collins. His return home after an extended period away sets in motion a chain of events that will change the Collins family forever. Can Carolyn and her cousin David survive the newly-awakened Curse of Dark Shadows, or will Barnabas be the end of the family line?
While I was on vacation, I got to do something I was really hoping to do -- watch Dark Shadows at the Jersey shore! We weren't in the same town, but our family vacations were where I first encountered Dark Shadows as a kid, and it was a kick watching a few episodes down there, as actual waves crashed on the beach not too far from me.
I've seen through episode 1160 now. There's been another seance -- a phony one this time, where Gerard and Charles set up Daniel to believe Quentin killed Randall. This causes Daniel to change the beneficiary of the will, but he changes it again, but then Gabriel startles him by getting out of his wheelchair and walking, giving him a heart attack and killing him -- and Gabriel has destroyed the new will, reverting things to Quentin. Now they're reading the will, and they left the benificiary as a cliffhanger. Gabriel thinks Collinwood will be his; I doubt it.
Also, Angelique used magic to find out who was being possessed by Judah Zachery, but Gerard fooled the magic and showed her an image of Quentin instead. Quentin is still in jail, Julia is still recovering (presumably), and Barnabas is worried about Quentin but doesn't seem to get much accomplished. Also, Joanna is still leaving Quentin and Daphne notes and now physical items.

From 1143: Roxanne also has a brother, Randall. I suspect we shouldn't get too attached.
You called that.
Hatch doesn't trust Quentin or Barnabas...
TRASK!!
You didn't mention it, but 1150/1151 had a seance (the 19th!), so it looks like it's time for me to update "Seances and Sources."
Trask, of course!
As we near the end of the series, it's pretty clear I'll never get this right.
Married June 21, 2025! A blissful, joyous day celebrated with cherished friends and family . . .

Nice, thanks for the advance notice!
