  • The most notable thing to me is that with DMZ and Northlanders drawing to a close, there's only a new miniseries announced. No new ongoing series, and nothing new by Brian Wood. I'd have described iZombie as "recent," but it's up to issue 18 already. Looks like Vertigo is being very careful about launching new ongoing series, probably a good idea after all the short runs in recent years.

And The Annotated Sandman...I suppose it was inevitable, but what's next? Reprint the entire series in B&W, maybe. Oh wait, I see they're doing that here. And they've already done the "Writer's Cut" with Absolute Sandman. This may officially be The Bottom of the Barrel.

  • Really? Because The Annotated Sandman is awfully tempting as I never got the Absolute edition!
  • No new ongoing series, and nothing new by Brian Wood.

Maybe with the glut of new DC Universe titles they might be biding their time as well. Not wanting to get lost in the new #1 shuffle.

  • The Scalped trade is a definite one for me. This is one of the most original and unfortunately most true-to-life books that show the real lives of not only an Indian reservation, but also large portions of rural (and I mean rural) America that's ever been put to paper in this format.
