Okay, I know I started another thread with this same title, but the search function on this website absolutely sucks, I'm sorry. I did my best.

Anyway, I wanted to say that I bought the entirety of Planet Hulk today at 99c an issue. I used an iTunes gift card, so I ended up paying nothing for it. But fourteen issues at $14.00 is pretty sweet. I've heard what an awesome story it is, but i have to admit that I picked up World War Hulk without having read PH. Can't wait to read up on this.

I have to admit that I'm somewhat of a sucker for 99c sales on Comixology. I read three of the DC digital first issues that way, and I always use the codes in the back of Marvel Comics to read those issues. It's a pretty awesome way to read comics.

  • Putting this into a Google search window will use Google's superior search to search within the Captain Comics site. This was suggested awhile back by another Legionnaire. It works pretty well for me:

    site:https://captaincomics.ning.com/ "search word or phrase"

  • I tried doing what you said, but I don't think it helped me at all. I should try again sometime.

Nonetheless, I did download some other comics onto my iPad today. I hate it when I pull one out of my back-stack and it's more than a year old and can't be downloaded anymore. How sad is that?

  • This is the link that is #2 on the list when I use the search terms:

    in Google.

  • Just yesterday my family got its first Kindle Fire, and I immediately grabbed the Comixology app. I'm definitely looking forward to exploring the books available on it.

I haven't explored it, but I do have questions:

    1) Is there a separate Marvel app?

    2) I heard about a Marvel subscription. Is it worth it?

    3) Are back issues (as in before Comixology existed) available?

    4) Is DC onboard? (Some of the reviews complained they weren't but the app had screen shots of new DC books)

    5) Any comics out there built specifically for the app? (Big Two or otherwise)

  • From what I know/remember:

    1. Yes, but they are on Comixology as well. Not sure what you get from each one really.

    2. I guess that depends of how much you use it. It is unlimited access to a ton of comics though for either a monthly or yearly subscription.

    3. Yes. That is where a number of their deals come from as they will put something like the entire run of Sandman on sale for example.

    4. Yes, sir.

    5. This I do not know.

  • A new Batman Beyond series (version 2.0, I believe it is...) started this weekend. I really liked the first issue (written by Kyle Higgins, who writes Nightwing and wrote the first several issues of the New 52 Deathstroke). They have advanced the story ahead one year, so Terry McGinnis is now in college and he's broken up with his girlfriend. I like Dick Grayson's role in this one. Plus, there's a Sean Murphy "cover", whatever that means for a digital comic.

  • There are a couple of pretty good sales on Comixology right now, Invincible's first hundred issues and what looks to be the complete Incredible Herc series.
