A bit of a jumble, this - it feels as though it's trying to introduce too much: Dan, Di, Claire, Swarm, Karvanista, the Lupari, Vinder, Azure, the Sontatans, the Weeping Angels, the Division, Williamson, the Flux itself, old Uncle Tom Cobbleigh and all...It's hard to believe that they're going to get all this nosense wrapped up satisfactorily in six episodes.
I thought Dan was OK - I had to put the subtitles on to know what he was saying half the time. Maybe he'll grow on me.
Quotes:
- "It's very temperamental, Nitro-9." A callback to Ace.
- "Nice to meet you, Dan. Run for your life!" A callback to "Rose".
Overall: Not a great start. The show already did "Crisis on Infinite Earths" with "The Stolen Earth"/"Journey's End". Not overwhelmed at seeing it again.

We kept this one on DVR. I think, over the years, I've been buying the DVD sets too soon. they always seem to be missing episodes I thinking should be included, and I end up buying those episodes separately. Do later editions of series sets incled specials and stuff like that? In any case, we're watching along with you.
Yes, there was an awful lot in this episode, wasn't there? I guess I didn't think too much about it first time through, but this time I'm anticipating how these plot threads are going to develop and intertwine. I know you sometimes think that there's not a lot of discussion this long after the original broadcast, but I remember specifically not having all that much to say watching it for the first time. I remember having just a single comment about the entire mini-series overall, but I'll save that until the end.

Does your Flux set include the New Year's day episode, "Eve of the Daleks"?
No, but I didn't expect it to.

But don't things like that tend to be included in later editions?
Soemtimes. I wouldn't be surprised if it was included in a pack with the other specials.
