- The Doctor gives a bunch of exposition up front, for the newbs, I guess.
- "I'm the last of the Time Lords." Oh, come on, you know that others always turn up, eventually.
- I like Rubathon Blue. Shame they couldn't have kept her around, at least for a while, but I suppose you couldn't do that with a character like Ruby, who's not really that well established, yet.
- "The butterfly compensation switch". OK.
- "Oh, we;re on a baby farm!" That's a creepy concept.
- "We're going from baby to baby!"
- "The human race, we survived!" Nice to think that we will.
- "Mummy! Daddy!" I like how the Doctor and Ruby are both like, "Aw, Hell, no!"
- "Oh, Poppy!" I've heard enough spoilers to know that we haven't seen the last of her.
- "The Bogeyman". Oh, ick.
- Snowflakes?
- The baby farm can't be turned off, but no one wqnts to support the babies once they're born. What could that be a metaphor for, I wonder?
- "Babies with a flamethrower!"
- "It's snot!" "It's not!" Oh, good grief.
- And a big poop explosion....
- I couldn't quite make out all of what the DNA scan at the end said. I could make out "Homo Sapiens", but not the other part.
Overall: So, space babies, a snot monster and a big ball of sh*t at the end. It's like Colin Baker all over again - a perfectly good Doctor, scuttled by being given subpar material to work with.

This episode is unique. Full stop. It's not often one gets to say that about anything.
"Space Babies" is like a feature-length ETrade commercial.
If W.C. Fields was correct, this episode must have been a bitch to shoot.
You just know there's going to be a space baby reunion episode one day (or ay least a commentary track)
"Nobody grows up wrong." - I like that.

Well, it is the "first season" after all. ;)
I keep a (mental) list of "introductory episodes" for each of the Doctors. Sometimes it the first appearance of a Doctor, but sometimes when he introduces himself to a new companion. I think this will be my introductory episode for the Fifteenth.
I've heard enough spoilers to know that we haven't seen the last of her.
Yeah, I was going to warn you to keep this episode fresh in your mind.
What could that be a metaphor for, I wonder?
If you hadn't said it I would have.

I don't think it was anything significant.
I don't know about Tracy.
I asked her what she thought about "The Church on Ruby Road" and she said, "It was a good introductory episode, but I could have done without the singing goblins. That was just weird." Tracy is picking up on things the second time through that may take me until the third time.
