I took a boat tour around Lake Winnipesaukee, New Hampshire today (the Sophie C. Mailboat, the only floating post office in the US) and spotted this house with the for sale sign on it.

Now I know that by the time I save up the money it'll probably be sold. But I'm sure there'd be room for my comic books.

I don't have this issue of not being able to afford the items but I have trouble justifying them to myself. For example, recently there was this listing on eBay of this guy who will make an exact replica of the Fourth Doctor's burgundy coat. You give him all the measurements and it is tailor made. He wants, like $275 for it and shipping and as much as I wanted it I just didn't feel right in paying that much for something cute or fun. Same thing with several times I have seen Amazing World of DC Comics # 9 (The Legion of Super-Heroes issue) but the least expensive copy I have found is $50. I read it cover to cover way back when and then gave it to a buddy of mine who was a real LSH fan and then he sold it so paying $50 minimum for a so-so copy of something I have read (over $125 for the quality condition) is again something I just don't feel right doing no matter how tempting.

Ha, I was just thinking of IDW's Best of EC Comics Artist Edition, but you definitely have me beat.
I find that the only solution to temptation is to give in to it immediately. Cures it right away.
"What would Oscar do?" Never fails. :-)

He'd throw the linguini against the wall and say "Now it's garbage."
I road through the neighborhood after the boat trip, lots for sale actually and each house looked pretty impressive. One had an iron and gold fence.
This place is even better. A small island all your own with a house on it.

If I had enough money to buy the house I wouldn't have any problem justifying it to myself.
