  • That's an excellent list.

    You might want to add:

    The Revenge of Frankenstein (1958)

    The Evil of Frankenstein (1964)

Jesse James Meets Frankenstein's Daughter (1966)

    Frankenstein Created Woman (1967)

    Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed (1969)

    The Horror of Frankenstein (1970)

Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell (1974)

(The final Hammer Frank, with Peter Cushing and David Prowse)

Three films entitled Dracula vs Frankenstein exist:

(1969) Directed by Jesús Franco, and also loosely as sequel to his adaptation of Dracula.

(1971)-- the Al Adamson one, and the most well-known.

(1971)- a Spanish/German production, originally released as Los Monstruos del Terror, but the Monster certainly appears, although he fights a werewolf while the vampire lord attends to other matters.

Do Blackenstein (1973) and Frankenhooker (1990) count? The poster for the latter quotes Bill Murray:

"If you see one movie this year, it should be Frankenhooker."

I'll see if I can think of others.

  • I forgot about Frankenstein: The True Story (1973).

It is, however, made-for-TV, and a very odd adaptation of the novel.

  • I have a rather extensive collection of Frankenstein movies on DVD and VHS but they're spread all over. I have a particular "Frankenstein" section collection in my DVD closet which is easy to get to, so I'll start with those. Many of them you have already listed, but here are a few you missed. In no particular order...

    The Bride (1985)

Frankenstein Conquers the World (1965, Japanese)

    Frankenstein vs. Baragon (1965, Japanese)

    Frankenstein Unbound (1990)

Frankenstein - The True Story (TV, 1973)

Frankenstein - The Real Story (History Channel). Includes...

In Search of the Real Frankenstein (2008)

         Frankenstein (1997)

It's Alive! The True Story of Frankenstein (1995)

    Frankenstein vs. the Mummy (2015)

Frankenstein Meets the Space Monster (1965)

    Frankenstein vs. Hitler (2011)

NOTE: Flesh for Frankenstein (1973) is perhaps better known as  Andy Warhol's Frankenstein

Next time I'll look through my VHS tapes.

  • Fantastic! Those have all been added.

  • Note that Frankenstein Conquers the World and Frankenstein vs. Baragon are different titles for the same movie.

    Captain Comics said:

Fantastic! Those have all been added.

  • D'OH! He's right. I was confusing Baragon with War of the Gargantuas. Mea culpa

  • God, I love you people.

    Fixed.

  • Yeah, War of the Gargantuas is the sequel to F. Conquers the W. / F. vs. B.; it's sort of "Frankenstein once removed."

Most of my Hammer Studios Frankensteins are on VHS, but I was in little hurry to check them because I assumed you already had them listed. I did and you do.

  • A few more:

Haram Alek aka Hraam Aleek aka Ismail Yassin Meets Frankenstein aka Ismaeil and Abdel Meet Frankenstein aka Have Mercy (1954): the notorious Egyptian comedy , a scene-for-scene and at times shot-for-shot unlicensed remake of Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein.

Munster, Go Home! (1966): theatrical release tied into the series-- and the series clearly establishes that Herman is a creation of Dr. Frankenstein.

Frankenstein all’italiana (1975): an Italian sex-horror-farce. Curiously, the German title, Casanova Frankenstein, seemingly gave its name to the Mystery Men villain (I suppose it could be coincidence). The Monster has clearly been based on the iconic Universal creation.

Frankenhood (2009): comedy in which, apparently, an African-American Frankenstein Monsters gets recruited to play basketball.

Vampire Girl vs Frankenstein Girl (Kyûketsu Shôjo tai Shôjo Furanken) (2009): I haven't seen this, but at least the posters are impressive.

    Problematic:
Do we include Hellzapoppin (1941)? The Frankenstein Monster makes only a brief cameo, but it's the licensed Universal Studios version. Dale Van Sickel plays the Monster; some sources erroneously identify Glenn Strange, who wouldn't step into those shoes for a few more years.

  •

Second Frank-update post in one day! Collect them all!

    I was a Teenage Frankenstein (1957)

Fanny Hill Meets Dr. Erotico (1967)

(I haven't seen it, but it features the Monster)

Santo vs la hija de Frankestein (1971): Mexican film in which a wrestler battles Frankenstein’s daughter and, of course, the Monster.

Mistress Frankenstein (2000)—stills show an almost perfect replica of the James Whale make-up for the Monster. I gather it's yet another sex farce kind of thing. It involves a female creation of Dr. Frankenstein who accidentally gets... a lesbian brain. Classify this one under "I can't even."

The House of the Wolf Man (2009) an indie retro horror movie with a creepier variation of the classic Universal look (see below). Stars Ron Chaney, grandson of Lon Jr. and great-grandson of Lon as a mad scientist. A labor of love, but reviews have not been kind.

    Frankenweenie (2012)
