Fantastic Four Infinity Comic #1, Spine-Tingling Spider-Man Infinity Comic #1, X-Men Unlimited Infinity Comic #1 and a few others.  Who is the intended audience for these non-canon loosely drawn stories, and why are they called "Infinity Comics"?

  • Here's Marvel's explanation .  Why "Infinity"?  No idea.  Maybe 'cause it sounds "Cool".

  • If these shorter works with less artwork, dialogue and story are to be called "Infinity", does that make their regular line "Infinity and Beyond!"?

  • Infinity probably comes from the idea that webcomics can be an infinite canvas. These comics are Marvel's attempt to capture what Scott McCloud was talking about here.

  • Thanks for the link-it really explains the concept well.
