Fatale

Anyone here reading Fatale by Ed Brubaker, Sean Phillips and Dave Stewart? I flipped through issue #2 and the second print of issue #1 yesterday. It certainly looked interesting, and Ed Brubaker has a proven track record. I thought I might tradewait it, then I read the solicitation for #5 which pointed out that the comic have “extras – text pieces, art, paintings – that are only included in the printed comics.” That’s a switch! Is Image trying to outwit the “tradewait” mentality?

Any opinions about this series would be appreciated.

  • I've been reading it. It's good but moves slower than even a typical Brubaker book. Of you like Criminal and Incognito by Brubaker and Phillips then this is a must. It's an ongoing as well. The extras is more of a Brubaker thing. It's two to four pages of text in crime writers or pulp writers. I think a issue of Fatale had a piece on Lovecraft. There were the same kind of pieces in Incognito which is a marvel book.
  • I've been reading and enjoying it, and those two creators are great together. Those extras in the monthly Brubaker did in Criminal and Incognito as well to reward those who support the regular series.
