  • I notoce that the Marvel books say "Comics Give Away Day" and the non-Marvel books all say, "Free Comic Book Day", except forthe Supergirl books that call it "SuperGIRL Day".

    • I picked up these Free Comics:

The artist and writer for this nearby event's promo comic-book were both on hand, so I got it signed:

And I bought the complete set of Justice on special for $23.00:

      Video... maybe... tomorrow....

  • D.N.A.

    • I didn't see that one at my local, what's it about?

    • Sorry. "Did Not Attend."

    • I might've read that one, if it was real.

  • Today's FCBD Haul:

I picked up 26 somehow (I am NOT getting them comprehensively any more), many of them the same as yours, Bob.

I notice that the Marvel books say "Comics Give Away Day" and the non-Marvel books all say, "free Comic Book Day", except forthe Supergirl books that call it "SuperGIRL Day".

That's because Lunar Distribution picked up the copyright to "Free Comic Book Day" in the Diamond bankruptcy mess. So only books distributed by Lunar can use the FCBD logo. Books distributed elsewhere, like Marvel (distributed by Penguin Random House) are using "Comic Give Away Day" instead. Nothing substantial has changed on our end, except for the curious branding.

The "Supergirl Day" books are re-treads from this year's Superman Day, which was on April 18. This year's Superman Day emphasized the Maid of Steel, for reasons you might guess.

    • Usually, my local limits you to three books, but this year, they said to take as many as I wanted,

  • This year, Free Comic Book Day and the Punk Rock Flea Market unfolded on the same day. I made a video. I'll post a blog later about the twin events, and the comparative lack of cosplayers, compared to recent years. Enjoy!
