I was in Halifax, NS yesterday on business. My meetings got out a little early, allowing me to visit two comic shops. What's the big deal about that you say? Well, I live 2.5 hours away, where there are no comic shops ... as I have whined about shared on a few occasions before.
At the first shop, for a grand total of $30, I scored:
- Next Men Book One (a series I have heard so much about but haven't read before), $5
- The Greatest Superman Stories Ever Told, $10
- Guardians of the Galaxy: The Power of Starhawk, in hardcover, $15. This one reprints the GotG series from Marvel Presents #3-12 from the 1970s, mostly written by Steve Gerber. I have two of these in single issues, but I find the back issues hard to come by, even on ebay, so I wasn't passing this up!
At the next shop I picked up:
- Showcase Presents Showcase, reprinting the first 21 issues of that landmark series. I plan to start a thread on it soon.
- Several things from the dollar bin, including an issue of What Th'?!?, the first 3 issues of Frankenstein Agent of SHADE and the first 4 issues of LSH, both titles from the new 52.
