Went to a Japanese resaurant for dinner last night with friends. At midnight I stepped into by backyard to listen to the fireworks. It was firecrackers, mainly, with some scattered larger ones that lit up the sky. It was 360° of explosions. It sounded as if close to 90% of the houses were setting them off. There are probably more fireworks on July 4th, but not all at once. I didn't pick out any specific gunfire this year, however.
