Above is a cover for an Australian-market reprint album titled "" SUPER-VILLAINS ALBUM " from the 80s with a plenty dang spiffy! cover by Jim Aparo !

Was this cover published in America ? After all , you always hear about the exclusive cobers and 2nd-part split splash pages that the 70s Bullpen created for Marvel UK's repackagings of US material...Australians ? Anybody else ?

  • Iirc, this is the back cover of one of the oversized issues of Detective Comics from the late 70s. Maybe 1979?
  • Oh , you mean the " Dollar Comics " issues ?

I was pretty well on the outs , heavily , with comics during most of their run (though I recall when they started) , I guess they did have ad-less bacovers? (Unlike DC's mid-70s attempt at 50/60c-er new/reprint-combining regular titles , which had normal

    ads on the back .)

  • ...So , wouldn't this have been published after the Catwoman had at least started her evolution towards being a heroine with an edgy side/a reformed villain ? I've often thought that that was a big change for DC , I was surprised to see that change when I saw that in some (pre-Crisis) early 80s titles , but no-one here much seemed to think that it was a big change/cared to comment much/at length when I did a line about it here , IIRC .

  • Here we go. It was 'Tec 484 with some changes made to the later version.

  • ...Everything happens to Harvey !!!!!!!!!!! Thanmk you .

Say , did you just , right now , edit this to collapse what were two separate posts , with the jpg in only one of them , together ?????????

'Cuz it was that way when I went to the jpg , but collapsed when I came back , IIRC .

Like I tell my wife when she says this:

    Don't change the subject.

  • It's an interesting image in a few ways. Catwoman is wearing her 1940s costume, which is what they had her wearing in the Pop Tarts mini-comic in 1966.When this was printed in 1979 I'm pretty sure she had had a couple of new costumes. If it was meant to be a period piece then Ra's al Ghul shouldn't be there. Also, for the Australian image they rearranged the positions of Scarecrow and Ra's al Ghul and dropped Two-Face completely. Was he still considered too scary in Australia like he was for a long time in the US?
