I thought that I might get the Seth Rogen Green Hornet movie on DVD a little later , when it was lower-priced and , if perhaps without some extras the initial version/s might have - Who knows ? - maybe with some new stuff for this " new edition " .
Recently , an only-in-this-region?? electronics chain called Fry's has advertised the GH DVD for $7.99 - such a new edition or , dispensing of excess copies of the original edition , which I suppose may have underperformed , anyway , at the checkout stand just as I am told that it did at the ticket stand - ???
T'other Sunday , Target's color newspaper supplement advertised the Green Lantern movie as coming out that week on DVD , on Friday . ( Isn't that an unusual time ? Aren't DVDs , as with audio LPs , generally officially released on Tuesday ??? ) The ad seemed to only show the " regular " version , not the 3D , or Blu-Ray , version . I thought that , perhaps , at least for Target , someone was deciding to empasize to " lower-end " , lower-priced , version , again , perhaps , to offset the film's apparent BO softness ( Is there still going to be a - With Reynolds , a feature . - sequel ? ) ?
After Watchmen-the-movie came out , the first DVD of the feature - I think ??? - was the straight theatrical version , then , and " improved " DVD came out with additional footage , much but not all of it IIRC from editing into it most if not all of the Tales Of The Black Freighter DVD that got released as a - What's the phrase ? " Extension film " ? - featurette actually in stores at the time of the theatrical release .
Then , some months later , n " Ultimate Edition " DVD came out , mostly but not entirely repeating the previous expanded cut and adding still a little more footage . Have there been any more edits since then ?
About a year ago , I saw much of the film again on HBO , and it seemed like it was a " standard " theatrical edit, as I believe HBO and the other premiums generally do - Except with a couple of plot points slightly different/rearranged , I'll explain in a spoiler-bedecked later post after this , later on .

...Ive seen these " quadruple feature on DVD " cheap DVDs advertised .
One was one of all 4 of the Burton Batman movie series .
Are these one DVD ?
If so , some sort of " lower-pic/sound-quality "/a little more inclined to stall a bit , like the Extended Play VHSs of yore ?
( I don't know why this is doing the " crossed out " thing and I don't have time - A live everion in Paris of James Brown's " BrotherRapp " playing - to correct it !!!!!!!!! )
Has anyone noticed all the variations of the Watchmen movie showing up in the discount bin at Bigg Lotts, Odd Lotts, or similar stores? The actual widescreen movie, the animated comic version, and the Tales of the Black Freighter each for just $3.
Run, don't walk, to snap them up!
...Which version of the LA movie ? The theatrical ? The two , slightly-different-from-each-other , " Director's " and " Ultimate " DVDs ( much , but not all , of the difference being generous chunks of Black Freighter edited in ) that , IIRC , came out , in that order , within a year's time of the theatrical's release ?
Or , the version I saw on HBO a year-ish back that , despite what I thought was HBO and other premeium(Sp??) cable channels' tendency to stick with standard theatrical cuts , appeared to be the theatrical cut BUT ( Spoilers ! ) with the order of Rorsasch's killing rearranged , what appeared to be a new scene of Henry Kissinger and Richard Nixon reacting to the end's events , and an " Oprah moment "/piece o' mother-daughter clinch time between Silk Spectre I & II after she finds out who her biological Pa was ???
( Heh . Well . It turns out I said this first here upwards in the same line !!!!!!!!!!! Well , I DID put something new in it here , ya know ! )
"LA"?
...Live Action .
Since there's been no " full-fleged " Watchman animated movie - arguably - perhaps that did not belong , but...........
I see. Sometimes it's best to spell out your terms before abbreviating them.
...........Um . I thought that " LA " as an abbrev. for " live action " was fairly well-established in comics/animation-fan circles.........
Oh yes there has... and BOTH have been on sale at Odd Lots this holiday season...
