Last weekend 2 GUNS , with Denzel Washington and Marky Ma- Uh , Mark Wahlberg - was the #1 BO champeen .
Two weeks before that , " R. I. P. D. " opened .
Though receiving unfavorable - Delayed until the actual opening day , no advances !!!!!!!!! - reviews ( Though , hey , at downtown San Jose's multiplex , it is still showing more shows per day - in both flat and 3-D , 2 each , - than perceived el floppo humongo The Lone R was playing in its 3d week , 2 shows , though 2-D only . ) , it';s still #13 the 3d week .
Red 2 is number 8 .
All of these movies are based on comics properties !
( Oh , and a movie based on a different kind of comics source - THE SMURFS 2 - was Number 3 . Smurf-y !!!!!!!:-) )
However , are any of those comics we , here , self-described " big " comics fans , ever discussed much ?
Perhaps not .
I'll say more on this later...

Next week's column is on the fact that five comic-based movies are on the Top 10 list at the same time. I think that's a first.
I will discuss Smurfs comics anytime anyone wants to. First I gotta get all you superhero fans to believe that they really are a lot of fun to read. Yes, they are. Go buy a few!
He's right! American Smurf cartoons: Homicidally irritating. Belgian Smurf comics: Fun.
Yeah, the few -- mostly FCBD -- Smurf books I've read from Papercutz have been a blast.
I liked the 2 Guns comic, too -- though I've no need to see the movie.
...I never saw that column , O Captain :--.........
Wow, I haven't put it up yet. Time flies! I'll fix that when I get off work.
