While I've never been a fan of Peter David's work, I certainly wish him well.
What a crappy thing to happen at Christmas. :(
Ironic that it happened as they were about to go visit an Under the Sea themed show....unquestionably one of his favorite, all-time best Dinsey cartoons that meant a lot to his family has been The Littlest Mermaid. (I recall his fascination with it.) [Anyway, I see some irony in this, even if you don't.]
I meant to say yesterday that this is going to be a rough start to 2013 for the Davids. I've posted comments on there. This happened to me (although in a different part of my brain) about six years ago. It's not going to be fun, but at least it sounds like he will eventually be back to himself.
That is terrible for him. I wish him all of the best.
Have you been able to recover?

For the most part, yes. For all intents and purposes on the outside, I'm fully recovered, and for that, I'm eternally grateful.
On the inside, I get a little frustrated at times. When I go back and look at old papers I wrote in college and stuff like that, I remember those types of things just rolling right out of me at the time, whereas now it's a little more of a struggle. And my memory was affected pretty badly, which isn't nearly as frustrating for me as it is/was for everyone else.

Kathleen David, Peter's wife, posted this morning that he is in surgery. The surgery isn't specified but is intended to prevent a future life-threatening issue.
Kathleen David's update from today:
Peter is going back to rehab today.
They kept him an extra day for dialysis things.
I want to thank everyone here for your support.
I will be shutting down this gofundme next Monday(Dec 19,2022)
Updates as I get them.
