Well he is still in ICU due to his blood pressure doing the Mambo with a lot on the low side. In good news he has seen the new episode of Dr Who and really enjoyed. And we have confirmed that Ruffalo did base his performance on Peter’s run.

    Caroline is THAT AGE?!!?!!?

Kath here. I wanted to post a happy thing today. This is my blog entry for December 5,2023

    Caroline reaches THAT age

21 years ago, I gave birth to that amazing human being we decided to call Caroline Helen David.

Caroline after Carol Kalish who Peter owes his career to, and she was a really good friend.

Helen after my mother. There is a tradition in our family that the children’s middle name is that of the grandmother.

(side note: Harlan found out that my side of the family knew the middle name was my mothers and Peter’s parents assumed it was because of Grandmother Hella. So he called her Caroline Helen Helen David and we have called her that ever since.)

David because that is now my last name. Actually, legally it is O’Shea David.

She arrived amidst a blizzard and for the first six years of her life, it always snowed on her birthday.

She had already done a lot in the time she has been on this planet.

And I know she is going to do amazing things with her life because she is Caroline.

Today I am officially taking her out for a drink at an Irish pub. Like I promised her so many years ago.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Caroline,

I love more with each day passing. You are my little girl no matter how old you are.

I have watched you go from that very surprised baby to the young woman you are today.

And I am so proud of you dealing with all kinds of things that have been dropped in the path along the way. You fight for yours harder than anyone I know.

I admire your kindness to the world. Sometimes it has been used against you and I really dislike that. Your mama bear growls in the dark.

You are so organized. We had very few dust ups because of homework. You would come home, have a snack and play with your cat, then sit down on do your homework at your own desk. Now you are organizing film shoots and so much more.

Now you are twenty-one and have been flying on your own since you entered college.

I will always love you and care for you.
I will aways be your mamamamamamamamama

    Love,
    Your Mother.

Peter is finally stable. We continue on from that point that has taken over a year to get to. We could not have gotten to this point without

    Happy New Year 2024

There has not been much news about Peter.

I can say that he has been stable for a month which is the longest he has been stabled since last November.

This gives me hope. Forward progress is possible.

It is New Year’s Eve where I am. For some of you. 2024 has already started.

I wanted to tell you all that Peter and I are more than grateful for all the help you have given us since this saga began.

We thank you for allowing us to keep our house and manage the mass of medical bills along with the usual expenses that come with just living.

We thank you for being in our corner. It has been a source of strength and comfort to all of us.

We thank you for making it possible for me to focus on Peter rather than be in a blind panic over losing the house and all we own.

Your kindness has kept us sane.

We will never be able to thank you for what you have done because it was above and beyond.

We aren’t out of the woods yet. My hours at work were cut and I am running out of big ticket items I can sell to keep us afloat but we are trying our best.

This afternoon Peter and I watched the Christmas episode of Doctor Who. He loved it. Then I showed him the Christmas episode of What iF? He really enjoyed that. I loved hearing him laugh and comment on the shows as he watched them.

I am dealing with Peter and it is glorious.

    Happy New Years to all.

May 2024 kicked 2023’s butt hard.

    The MaGiC donut-hole

(Imagine Doug Henning said it, If you don’t know Doug Henning, you are missing out on an amazing magician)

Peter is now over two months without a re-infection. This is very good news. He is working hard to recover what he has lost.

That is the end of my good news.

Apparently as of January 1, 2024, We have to pay out of pocket for Peter’s Dialysis which he need to live.

It is an insurance morass that I am climbing through trying to get insurance to pick up the ball.

Just for a break down on the expense. One session is $743 (USD) and he needs three a week making it 2229 or say 2230 because it is easier for me to wrap my head around. I have been paying for it because I want Peter to live. But the well is dry and I haven’t has much luck with the collectables recently.

I am coming to you and asking for your help which you have so graciously given us during the last year and three months.

Please give the Go Fund Me another blast you can say this is to pay for Peter’s dialysis.

I will put another update and edit this one once I get everything back in hand.

I really didn’t need this but here it is Happy New Year.

On a lighter note, Peter and I have been watching all the programs we like to watch together. He’s not much for Project Runway or Ink Master and I am uninterested in beach volleyball and some procedural shows.

We have been enjoying “After Midnight” which airs after Colbert. It’s a game show with comedians and a talk show with a game sort of kinda. But we have both laughed hard than we have in a very long time. He is caught up with Loki. We are working our way through “What If-“and the fourth season of “Miss Scarlett and the Duke”. “Criminal Record” is next.

We talk about conventions and fans. He is so very humbled and grateful for all you have done. You must understand that Peter came from the other side of the table. He was a fan before he was a pro. He would meet people he admired and told them so. He has autographs from that time. Overtime a number of those people have become his friends and admire his work as well.

He has been catching up on his comic book reading too.
We have been bouncing writing ideas between us.

It almost feels like we are back to the old normal but this is the new normal and I have a lot of muck to get through so I can stabilize the househol

    Here is the promised update.

First Thank You everyone for helping us in our time of need.

I have gotten the insurance straitened out finally. I was in red tape heck for a while there but managed to get it untangled. I am very glad I have the phone plan I have.

Peter is now close to three months without a re-infection. He is doing well and working hard at recovering all he has lost. He is in good spirits and has a good attitude about all that has happened. He has not given up.

Last weekend Peter’s sister Beth and his brother Wally visited. We hadn’t seen Wally in over five years. It was a lovely visit all around.

I am putting any funds aside for the next medical crises or financial crises.

Again, Peter and I cannot thank you enough for all your help. It does let us worry about other things that are a little more important like family.

I will keep you updated even if there is no big news.

    Good news everybody

Three months of Peter’s white cell count being normal.

The anemia is still a problem. New methods are being discussed.

My fight to get him on normal food continues along with some other issues.

  • This doesn't have anything to do with PAD's illness or recovery per se, but he got a call-out from one of the comedians on Tuesday night's episode of Taylor Tomlinson's comedy gameshow After Midnight. The game was to look at a photo of one celebrity or another (in this case, the Hulk) and decide whether that person drinks whole milk or oat milk. One of the comedians specifically cited Peter David's run of the Hulk. (The answer was whole milk; the Hulk probably just picks up the entire cow and squeezes.) I hope someone brought that to his attention; I sure he would have gotten a kick out of it.

  • Tomorrow it will be exactly four weeks since the last update. No news is likely good news. As soon as I get her update I will post it.
