Every week, one item or another in my pull and hold stands out for me above the rest in one way or another. Sometimes it’s a periodical, sometimes a graphic novel, sometimes a collection. Does that happen to you? If so, let’s hear about it here. It can be an item you’ve long anticipated or something you bought on a whim. If it’s something you were really looking forward to but ended up being a big disappointment, let’s hear about that here, too. I’ve been meaning to start this topic for a long time now, but chose today to post about something I’ve been waiting for a long time, long before it was even solicited.
SILVER SURFER EPIC COLLECTION BY STEVE ENGLEHART AND MARSHAL ROGERS
This is a favorite run of mine, but I’ve read it only twice: once as it was released, and I re-read it once after that. It came out as an “ESSENTIAL” a few years ago, but for this I held out for color.
EDIT: Most weeks I make my picks before I have read them, but feel free to choose either the books you anticipate most before you read or enjoy the most after you have read them.

Two nominees:
I'll be back with my choice after I've read them.
JONNY QUEST #1: This isn't like the old show, but it reminds me of how the old show used to make me feel. (Also it explains where Jonny's been since 1964.)
BABS #1: I feel confident in calling this the "Sword & Sorcery Barbarian Comic for those who don't like Sword & Sorcery Barbarian Comics" (because I don't like Sword & Sorcery Barbarian Comics and I loved this).
VERDICT: Tie.
I was prepared to give this week's nod to World's Finest #30, but frankly it wasn't very good.
Archie finally chooses between Betty and Veronica (by flipping a coin).
[SPOILER] What are you reading this spoiler for? Go out and buy it yourself. [END SPOILER]
This comic has so many "Easter eggs" and inside references (including four of the cover alone), more than I can even identify. Also Tom King and Dan Parent each provide a list of their respective top ten "Archie" stories. Now I have a decision to make: do I file this with my Tom King comics or my Archies?
All those years ago, when the one-shot Iron Man and Sub-Mariner #1 came at the end of the split books my solution was to buy two copies. Of course, it was a lot cheaper.
Seldom since Flashpoint have I enjoyed a (mainstream) DC comic as much as this.
Here's a larger image of the wrap-around cover, which I copied from ComicBook.com.
This is another one of those wonderful weeks in which three Tom King books ship on the same day.
I'll give the nod this week to AHOY! Comics' election-themed Justice Warriors OGN.
Okay, DC... here's your chance to win me back over.
Don't blow it.
