I am so down on new comics these days that my participation on this board has dropped to nil. I am a “super-hero” guy at heart, but most super-hero comics these days bore me to tears. Every once in a while, though, a title which builds on the super-hero tradition comes to light.
James Robinson’s Invaders is such a series.

I'll put it on my Amazon list.
I'm still reading it at the moment. However, I don't think it's been awesome. I would use the word "decent" to describe it, and we'll see how I feel after the opening storyline concludes as to whether I'll continue reading it.
But This does sound interesting. Do I need to be up on recent Marvel continuity to know what's going on?
You don't have to be up on recent Marvel continuity to follow the story, but it does grow out of recent events and mini-series surrounding the characters. It uses some unexpected toys from Marvel's toybox (such as the Kree and the Eternals), but what really got me is the characterization (specifically, the last three pages before the epilogue). This might be a case of "horseraces" between Randy and myself. I wouldn't descibe it as awesome myself, either, but I still rate it a notch or two above merely decent.

Ok. Robinson has done some of my favorite comics so I'll give it a look once the trade comes out.
