The deaths in 2016 just keep on coming: "TV Great Grant Tinker Dies, Former CEO Of NBC Was 90"
There aren't many TV executives who are a household name, but Grant Tinker is one of them. First, he was married to Mary Tyler Moore. Second, they created MTM Enterprises, the production company that gave us half the shows in the TV Hall of Fame: Mary Tyler Moore, Rhoda, Phyllis, Hill Street Blues, St. Elsewhere, Lou Grant, The Bob Newhart Show, Remington Steele, Newhart, The White Shadow and WKRP in Cincinati, and others.
Third, he was chairman of NBC in the '80s, putting the network on top with popular and quality programming such as The Cosby Show, Family Ties, The Golden Girls, Cheers, Night Court, and Hill Street Blues.

He and Mary were a good team. I enjoyed all of the programs you listed.
