That's , roughly , the title of the Bongo CB I bought last time at the ol' LCS !
I would not have suspected that there was that much interest in the Chief's son but it is the first issue of this , apparently ongoing , ( what's the second title above ????? ) " Showcase " series .
Bluntly , is any version of the Simpsons coming around to - or actually declaring - Ralph to be some kind of autistic/mildly retarded/developmentally disabled/whatever ?
The comic , more later , is (SPOILER) more " nice " than Simpsons stories generally are , basically showing Ralph's sweetness/good luck triumphing over perilous situations - perhaps to the adults around him's property damage , anyway , however !
The comic , aside from now accepted " off-book " Simpsons stylings by Sergio Aragones and Carol Lay , has a lead-off story drawn by the new-to-me Mike Kazeleh that is a touch different in style as well - the " cover story " , at the back , is more Fox-stylebook specific, however...........

I thought it was interesting both as a one-shot focus on someone who doesn't really show up that much and also because of the different cast of creators working in the Simpsons style.
It'll be interesting to see who they do, considering they did an entire CBG mini-series already. They have enough characters for it to last for years, which is one of the fun things about the series.
The second one was solicited this month and will star Milhouse.

...DUDE!!!!!!! Maybe theyll, since its a first issue have different collectible covers...in strawberry, chocolate chip, and mint paste!:-)
Right arm!
I'm not sure how they're handling the numbering. The Ralph book's indicia says it's SIMPSONS' ONE SHOT WONDERS: RALPH WIGGUMS with no number, and says it's published four times a year, but I assume that's just the SOSW part. So I don't know if Milhouse will be #2, or if it will just be SOSW: MILHOUSE with no number, and it'll keep going like that.
RALPH is also on surprisingly heavy paper compared to the other Bongo books. It's only 28 pages for the same price, so I'm not sure if they boosted the weight to hide that fact, or they needed to use it for a 28-page book or what happened.

...Yes , it's like , or exactly like , that in the incidia , with no number given .
( I can't check it out now time-/convenience-wise , so this is from memory . )
They plug the next three issues in the text page/letttercol ( yes - with illo of Ralphie Boy , no less , doing what he - ahempyum ) , the Milhouse , with cover-repro'ing ad as well , it would appear that it follows the more patted down by previous ones road for modern humor comics/Simpsons comics in general?? of genre parodies , Milhouse imagining himself in different situations...Then , the text refers to a LIL' HOMER ish post-that , then an all??-Sergio Marge solo...........
I noted the 28 pages , didn't note the interior stock , thank you , it's the only Simpsons comic I now have near me , although I put aside the latest mothership SIMPSONS COMICS plus FUTURAMA ( Which has greatly changed its logo with this ish incidentally , IIRC so has the BART SIMPSON title and even the mothership??...)...It's still something like 25 story pages , which is...for the same price ( Untill a few years ago , weren't the Simpsons comics $3.25 or $3.49 ? Or $2.99 when $2.25 , or $2.50 were the " mass " Marvel & DC prices ??? ) , 25% more than either DC or Marvel !!!!!!!!!
I really enjoyed it, and am looking forward to Milhouse. Gail Simone's writing that one, IIRC.
And I'm no Simpsons historian, but I don't think they've ever nailed down what's up with Ralph. He's just simple, is all. (Any diagnosis would surely leach the fun from the character, wouldn't it?)
...I got the MILHOUSE issue , which repeats the #1 cover marking but numberless Simpsons One-Shot credit in the incidia .
...I bought the LIL' HOMER which seemed to finish the planned mini-series/four issues , although a Lisa one-shot is coming up.........
