It looks like the CW is going to replace Smallville with a new series starring Raven of the Teen Titans.

It's interesting that they'd use a character who generally appears in ensemble books to headline a solo series.

Bleeding Cool points out that Marv Wolfman is part of DC's multimedia braintrust, so that could be part of why this particular character got the nod.

"Magic teenage girl with demon father" seems right in the CW's wheelhouse.

Also, in the comics she was reborn as a teenager, and her last mini had her in high school. The plan might be for a high school-set series. Likewise the Teen Titans cartoon had the characters school-aged.

It could be an updated That's So Raven! since both have psychic powers!

Seriously though, we have to see how much of Raven's backstory is kept and what part the Titans will play, if any. But then if they can do Manimal thirty years ago, they can do Beast Boy today!
