RIP Bernard Cribbins

Story  He was probsbly best-known in this country to Doctor Who fans for his recurring role as Wilfred Mott, but he was a legend in the U.K., another one of those "never a headliner, but always in something" people. He also did a lot of voiceover work, and was renowned as a storyteller.  So long, Granddad.

  • I loved Bernard Cribbins.  For me, he was best known as the railway porter, Mr Perks, in the seminal 1970 movie "The Railway Children" which also starred Jenny Agutter and Sally Thomsett.  He appeared in many UK TV programmes, including Jackanory, The Wombles and Fawlty Towers.   He was also the barman Felix Forsythe in Alfred Hitchcock's Frenzy (1972).
