Falafel sure. Hummus is one of those foods I can eat, until I get a good whiff of it. I don't like the smell, smells like BO to me. Except for the super fresh homemade one I had a few weeks back which was dynamite.
I'd never heard of shawarma before the movie, though I'd had hummus and falafel. Turns out there's a shawarma restaurant just down the street from the theater! Next movie I see there, I'm stopping in.
I thought that scene would've been better if they'd all been jabbering away, reliving the fight and having a laugh, having finally found something to bond over. I could see Thor saying to Cap, "And then he just looks over at me and goes BAM!" as Banner laughs.
They're having you on, guys. Shawarma is actually a new super-team from GBS, made up of Man Superman, Methuselah 2, PygmaLion and the Chocolate Scream Soldier. Currently they're seeking the Ibsenian Quintessence on Jonbul's Other Island to obtain the secret of mining perfect Wagnerite. Later this year they'll cross over with the Full Fathom Five from another company when its leader, Father Lies, marries the Coral Maid.
That sounds cool, I'll bag and board it and store it in my longbox of AvX issues.
Meanwhile, I went to see Amazing Spidey tonight, which rocked, and I stopped off at the shawarma place for dinner. It was pretty good, kind of like a gyro only with grilled chicken. The pita was more like a bun with a long slit through it rather than a flatbread, but it was really good and fresh. It was filling enough that it could satisfy me after I'd saved the Earth from an intergalactic invasion, especially with a side of rice.
