SUPERMAN #42 (Spoilers)

In the same " goodbye , Surf City " purchase that I referred to in the line about the new ARCHIE , I bought SUPERMAN #42 ., which , as with the Archie issue , I no longer have .

It has a major plot development for the latter-day Superman in it .

Searching , it appears no-one has posted about it here , so I will .

  In Yang/Romita Jr.'s story (it's indicated on the cover anyway so I guess I'm hardly " Spoiling " .) -
Lois Lane discovers that Clark Kent is Superman !

She , in fact , takes the initiative , tearing Clark's overclothing off to reveal the familiar outfit beneath , this satisfying her curiosity as to why , in the last issue , Clark revealed special abilities .

  She discovers why .

  He is Superman .

Lois is pissed off at finding this out first , especially when she finds out that Jiummy Olsen knew it already !

She reveals that she had been suspicious ~ maintaining a database/concordance (??) of Superman and Clark's relative times present and abscences !

Very good ~ showing Lois to be logical .

The JRJR art almost has too much story !

With several pages with four tiers of panels , and less of the " big screen " approach I tend to expect from JRJR over the 24 story pages for $3.99 - Was this written Marvel or full script style ?

Has JRJR ever been known as much of a writer ? Was he considered , say , to have contributed to the KICK-ASS comics' stories very much ?

Emerkeith, your link goes to a page with the cover of Superman #17 on it, not #42.

  • I know it went up wrong (Though the time I just tried , it went to #32's cover .) . Thank you for getting a correct link up .

What happened was , hours ago , I tried to put a link to #42 up , and I couldn't get it up (huh huh huh huh, Beavis) , I was trying to get a correct link up, I couldn't get it right, I was going to complete it  ~ And then I was called away from the computer keyboard , and then that call away turned into a much longer (huh huh huh huh)  time away from the key'bd , and other stuff happened , and I couldn't get back til' now to checking the site .

  • Supes is now on the lam, and his powers are disappearing as well. The Fortress repossessed his uniform, so it's looking pretty grim. He's like Super Homeless Guy now. Thanks for nothing, Lois!

  • Well, *I* have a lot to thank her for. I'm more interested in Superman right now than I have been in years.
