At long last, DC has released solicitation info for the first issue of a new Legion of Super-Heroes series, written by Josh Williamson and drawn by Hayden Sherman (who, impossibly, has been working on this in tandem with Absolute Wonder Woman for months)!

Witness the dawn of a new future in DC Comics architect Joshua Williamson and Eisner-winning superstar artist Hayden Sherman’s Legion of Super-Heroes … you will never look at tomorrow the same way again!
I'm thrilled. I'm a big fan of Sherman's art on Absolute Wonder Woman and Batman: Dark Patterns, and I think we're in for an amazing ride!

Josh Williamson posted this on Bluesky:
"I merged elements from different Legions to build a new story that starts fresh and accessible. We're taking the series deeper into sci-fi and the weird. Unpredictable and unexpected.
I didn't want to overload the cast with too many characters. I wanted to show the formation of the Legion."
So it definitely sounds like it's a reboot, but a reboot that intentionally incorporates elements and moods from previous Legion runs. Considering how successful Williamson has been on Superman -- even winning people over to Superboy Prime, for goshhakes! -- I think if anyone can do that tricky job, he can. There's no way he'll please everybody, but I hope he manages to please a lot of us!
I'm currently reading my way through the Cockrum/Grell era of the Legion, and I am definitely up for this.
I don't know whether I'll like it or not, but I'll definitely give it a try.
I hope he succeeds. The Legion is a cherished part of the DCU, and it has been missed and gone through rough patches since the 1990s.
