The lost shows

Another show I'd forgotten about as I work my way through the vhs collection and put it on DVD.  Queen of Swords, a female Zoro.  Last week I found an episode of Cleopatra 2525 and I've found a few sit coms that didn't last a season or even one or two episodes.  When I first got the vcr way back in the ancient days I recorded a lot never guessing that they'd be putting a lot of series out on dvd.  When I was a kid I'd be frustrated by shows that I liked that didn't last a season and that I never saw again.  Quark comes to mind and of course a lot of Saturday morning shows.  Since I can't find the notebook I used to keep track of what I was recording I'm often surprised by what I find.  There are a lot of lost shows in the past.

  • I come across alot of odds and ends of stuff from my old VHS tapes, too. It's funny the stuff you wanted to preserve at the time, and now barely remember.

  • I never had the Trio channel, but they had a series titled "Brilliant But Canceled," specifically devoted to showing reruns of shows that didn't last but one season, or less.

  • I liked all of those shows--QUEEN OF SWORDS, CLEOPATRA 2525. They were from Sam Rami, weren't they? Like HERCULES and XENA, you could put your mind in park and just enjoy the eye candy.

  • I think that they were, Hercules and Xena were hits and he tried to match them using the same basic formulea. Sometimes it worked ok, sometimes it didn't.
