One of the bloggers here had a post a ways back about the warehouse of a record club that used to advertise in 1970s comics being located in his area - now deserted and slated for blow-down , I suppose .

  I searched ~ and could not find the post .

    The building is still standing. The records are still in there ... HOWEVER ... I recently got an email where the writer told me that he was working on a deal to purchase all those records. The e-mail came several months ago, and I hadn't heard anything since.

    The building itself is in use -- or at least  the warehouse portion of it is. There are trucks (and employee vehicles) there every day. The office section, which still has all the Record Club of America branding, is unused and that's where you can see the actual records stored in bulk on shelves.

  • ...I bought a 1972 ARCHIE'S JOKEBOOK MAGAZINE , #175 , and it contains a Columbia Record Club ad there ~ Back then , IIRC , that Columbia , RCA , and Capitol all had branded record clubs ~ and seperate tape clubs (8-tracks and cassettes ?) , too , as well as these " independent " ones .
