(The tape I got with the 2011 Doctor Who Christmas special contained a few sample episodes of this show, which I'd never seen.)

Part One:

1)This starts out as quite reminiscent of 60's "fantasy" sitcoms like Bewitched, what with them having comic misadventures guarding Sarah Jane's secrets - they've even got the nosy/wacky neighbors.

2)"Where would I send the invite - Metebelis Three?"

3)It's Zienia Merton!

4)"Stop thispigeonwedding now!"

5)Cliffhanger: Sarah Jane disappears!

Part Two

6)"I'll explain later."

7)I'm guessing this "Trickster" is the head of the "Brigade" to which the "hyperbeetle" that went after Donna in "Turn Left" belonged to.  Vicious bugger, isn't he? Nothing "wacky sitcom" about him.

8)"All you have to say is 'I do'."

9)"You look better in black. Or is white the new black?"

10)A Key to Time reference!

Overall  Interesting to see Tennant's last (to date, anyhow) performance as the Tenth Doctor. Not a bad episode - the kids aren't too obnoxiously clever. Was the sniping between K-9 and Mr. Smith a running gag? I say this was pretty good for a "kid's show".

  • The Sarah Jane Adventures is very much aimed at a younger audience than Doctor Who just as Torchwood is aimed at an older one. All in all, it is a very entertaining children's show, which Tracy and I (especially Tracy) enjoy watching very much. I think of this one as a "lost adventure of the Ninth doctor." I didn't spot the connection to "Turn Left," but you're probably right. And yes, the sniping between K-( and Mr. Smith was a running gag.
