So reading the review (or at least the comments) of Superman # whatever-the-current-issue-is, and Cap's thoughts about Mon-El taking on the name Jonathan Kent, I just can't help but wonder...
Conner Kent, Kara Kent, Jonathan Kent... It's a nice sentiment and all, Clark extending his family to all these super-types, but doesn't it kind of raise a bit of suspicion? I mean, you'd think someone at a social security office at least would notice all these "cousins" or whatever just suddenly showing up on the Kent farm. And I imagine the talk around town... "Whelp, looks like Martha's taken on another 'nephew'. Sure is a strapping young man. Funny she never mentioned him before..."
How do they explain all these "Kent" identities turning up in-story?

Well most them aren't holding down regular jobs are they? Then, social security wouldn't get involved.
And: "Whelp, looks like Martha's taken on another 'nephew'. Sure is a strapping young man. Funny she never mentioned him before..."
Coming from a a fairly big family this does happen quite a bit. Saved a lot of money on family vacations to be able to stay at a relative's house for the night.
I concur with Travis. My family was spread all up and down the Eastern part of the U.S., and we had relatives coming an going all year long. My cousin from New York came and lived with us for more than a year after he graduated from college, and he worked for my dad. No one ever accused him of being a refugee from Krypton or Daxxam.
