I've been tasked with delivering a speech on "Love" at my niece's wedding in January. I think she's expecting me to quote from something romantic, but non-traditional. I have something in mind, but it's short and I need to pad it out a bit. Any suggestions?

Take a look at a Bible concordance for references to love, it will direct you to the pertinent passages.
Love conquers borders,
time and distance,
it laughs at danger and embraces hardship.
Love is the goal and the journey,
the sea and the stars,
the sun and the planets.
Love is what all search for.
Love is what the fortunate few find.
Maybe it's because I saw him perform this last month, but you can't go wrong with Stevie Wonder: "As," with lyrics
You can't see it with your eyes, hold it in your hands
But like the wind it covers our land
Strong enough to rule the heart of any man
This thing called love
It can lift you up never let you down
Take your world and turn it around
Ever since time nothing's ever been found
That's stronger than love
Johnny Cash - Thing called love.
Can't go wrong with Johnny.
Staying with Johnny - Great love song here:
The First time ever I saw your face
And the moon and stars were the gifts you gave,
To the dark and the endless sky, my love.
And the first time ever I kissed your mouth,
I felt the earth move through my hands.
Like the trembling heart of a captive bird
That was there at my command.
And the first time ever I lay with you,
I felt your heart so close to mine.
And I know our joy would fill the earth,
And last till the end of time, my love
Good suggestions all.
Mark, what's the source of that verse?
Hard to put things back together after a power failure/router failure, I thought I'd never get another spare minute to really sit down and type.
That's just what came to mind as I read your request. One of those times when I type without thinking. I've never known romantic love and I doubt I ever will, I'm too much everyones 'friend' and what ever else life has in store for me I doubt that's going to be part of it. But I have observed well in my life and I have read well so I do what that sort of love is.

You wrote that yourself? Nice!
And don't give up on romantic love.
