This has got to be the earliest edition yet. This is for comics and other crap that is supposed to be out in February 2012.
1. I love Stan Sakai's Usagi Yojimbo Dark Horse 25th Anniversary pic. You can see it here
2. I am definitely on board for Brian Wood & Becky Cloonan's new Conan series.
3. I've bought more Star Wars comic the past year or so than I probably ever have. Including the new Dawn of the Jedi miniseries. (a quick side note I love that the spellchecker knows that Jedi is supposed to be capitalized).
4. So, um, 6 issues to get the Justice League together?
5. Batman Beyond Unlimited is a cumbersome, bad name. It is nice to see Norm Breyfogle on a book again. He is doing the Batman beyond portion of the book.
6. A nice collection of Jim Aparo's Brave & Bold work.
7. I took a short break to play some Bejeweled Twist.
8. Do we need 6 G.I. Joe comics?
9. Is Thief of Thieves an ongoing or a mini?
10. Congratulations to The Darkness for reaching issue 100.
11. Image's listings are a real beating sometimes.
12. Marvel is putting a new #1 for a new series @$2.99. Welcome aboard Winter Soldier!
13. I don't like them double shipping the first two issues though.
14. Francisco Francavilla is on Cap & Bucky so I am back to this comic as well.
15. How many $3.99 series is Marvel double shipping? 9 apparently. That doesn't include the $2.99 ones they are double shipping or like Venom which is $3.99, but is also sending out four point comics
16. So long Punishermax! A terrible name, but a really good series.
17. I do recommend the Torso trade. Really good Bendis.
18. And now they are selling action figures without showing us what they look like.
19. I think I can skip the colorized version of the Dicks comic @ five bucks a pop.
20. Oh joy a Stripperella graphic novel.
21. Why is the Batmobile and Bat Signal model kits listed in the book and magazine section?
22. If they do 2 pieces a month it will take you 16 months to complete your DC Chess set. Assuming my math is right.
23. Way to go creators of Angry Birds, you did something genius. Angry Birds in Previews even.
24. Those x-ray DC t-shirts do look cool.
25. $450 for the Yoshimitsu statue for you really BIG Tekken fans. It was a fun video game, but come on.

Is this Ennis's series?
I guess they don't have they same economies of scale as the big companies products. (Although obviously the coloring is the only extra creative cost for this reprint...)
I wonder how a book about two Loyalist hangers-on in Troubles-era Belfast would be received by US readers anyway? The few I've read I've enjoyed for the way Ennis captured the dialects and such, but for readers unfamiliar with that 'milieu'...?.
I turned my order in yesterday and I don’t have a copy with me. I’ll try to do this from memory, but I may have to revisit this thread later with further comments. I will say that this is the lightest month for me in terms of pre-orders in recent memory.
I’ve said before that Dark Horse is either feast or famine for me. This month it’s famine with no DH preorders.
You already mentioned DC’s collection of Jim Aparo’s The Brave & the Bold, which is definitely on my preorder list. This volume reprints work from issues #98-122 (which featured Aparo in all but three issues, so 22 stories…?).
I’m glad to see Terror on the Planet of the Apes will be reprinted (in its entirety, I hope). Adventure Comics reprinted it when it had the rights, but only the first four chapters. I’m always raving about this Moench/Ploog series over in the POTA thread; here’s the chance for everyone unfamiliar but interested to judge for themselves.
A tpb of Howard Chaykin’s Avengers: 1959 has been solicited, but I’m less interested in that (because I’m buying the individual issues) than I am New Avengers tpb2 which the series spun out of.
That’s all I can think of right now. More later, perhaps.
Figs, yes it it the Ennis series. I remember when it was originally released, I want to say by Image, but I have no idea how well it sold. After this colored version of the series they are supposed to be a new Dicks series.
So, um, 6 issues to get the Justice League together?
My sentiments exactly. This was the flagship introduction of the New 52, and it creeps and crawls along. Oooh, there's a man called Superman in this universe! What's the mysterious Batman like? Really? I'm sure six issues will make a nifty TPB, but that's not how I would have started out to convince readers to come back/try us out.

As long as it's not stopping them from putting out something else, I don't mind the 10 bazillion things in Previews that I have no interest in. I'm kind of amazed that some of it actually finds an audience that makes it worthwhile to do, but I don't mind people having the option.
I figure comics--and this is pretty much every comic in the universe that will be available in February--are something like a bookstore. I don't need to like *everything,* just so long as there's more than I can handle that I do like. And there always is.
If 6 G.I. Joes are too much, the audience should let them know. Like you, I'm kind of amazed at some of these line extensions, but I'm figuring they have sales data and retailer feedback, so they know what will work. I'm actually more surprised to find when that's NOT the case.
How many $3.99 series is Marvel double shipping? 9 apparently.
Yow. I could've sworn there was a recession on. Those get those comics off to a great start, because it's lots more pages in that first month than usual, but it sure could turn off a lot of readers who don't have that kind of cash for new titles.
I do recommend the Torso trade. Really good Bendis.
I agree. This is pretty old by now, but it's a great story told well.
And now they are selling action figures without showing us what they look like.
Like you on G.I. Joe, I'm amazed at the number of statues and action figures that are available. Those are pretty high-priced items to be put out in such quantity and without much advance information. But if people want 'em, I say buy 'em! Buying action figures sight unseen is a real leap today, considering how many of each character they're pumping out.
Oh joy a Stripperella graphic novel.
Ah, c'mon, there are lots more objectionable things in Previews than that! And I haven't even seen it yet! It's no doubt got some kind of following from TV.
Way to go creators of Angry Birds, you did something genius. Angry Birds in Previews even.
When I first saw an Angry Birds plush, I thought it was kind of cute. It lost some of that when they started popping up in every Target and Kmart. But I'm so old I remember when we used phones to talk to each other.
$450 for the Yoshimitsu statue for you really BIG Tekken fans. It was a fun video game, but come on.
Yep, pretty amazing. Like I said, Previews is a fun read just to consider the people who are buying some of this stuff! And no doubt people could say that about my order form, too.

To me it is like when Dynamite was flooding the market with six Green Hornet books, or now with I think 4 John Carter mags. We quickly learn the market won't support it. The market has barely supported one Joe comic the past few years.

I don't find it objectionable, I just found the show to be bad. The one episode I happened to catch.
