Thoughts While Filling Out Previews

Its been about 10 years since I have done this. The first thing I have noticed is...no Previews!

I learned about 2 weeks ago my LCS has canceled his Diamond account. As someone who has ordered all off his comics from Previews for about 30 years. This was quite a shock. I\ve also worked there before, and I understand his problems. Hell, they haven't even had a sales associate in over 10 years.

So, all of the books will be between Penguin, Lunar, etc. Anything that is Diamond only he is trying to work out. A new dynamic for me for sure. I do understand his frustrastion. Shorted on comics, damaged comics, and just being left in limbo.

    • That would indeed be unfortunate.

Your link didn't work, BTW, but I found THIS ARTICLE, from May 19. In it, Allyn Gibson is quoted as saying, "I continue to be employed, and we are deep into the production of July's issue of PREVIEWS." The one that came out this week is June's.

Trigger Warning is a new Strangers In Paradise story written and drawn by creator Terry Moore. This one-shot comic book features SiP stars Katchoo and Francine as you've never seen them... in the Old West! Can Civil War veteran Katchoo find true love in a small western town? She can if Francine lives there! But first our weary soldier will have to battle quick-tempered outlaws and the quickest gun in the county!

  • I corrected that link, but it was an earlier story anyway. Here's the current one:

Diamond Previews Contains Boom Solicits With Mary Sue, But Little Else

    • When they say, "This may actually be the final Diamond Previews catalogue," I assume they are referring to #441, June '25. That's the one that shipped last Wednesday and which has mostly August solicits. (I've recycled mine already.) I do remember seeing some of those "Cover to be Revealed" boxes, but I don't order a lot from Boom.

    • My concern isn't about Boom, but that was the thrust of that article, so I can see how you'd focus on that. My concern is about the fate of Previews and previewsworld.com. I guess I should just wait until July to see if my fears are justified.

    • No, I get it.
