Underused Batman villains

If the usual suspects are overexposed, who would you like to see used? Just off the top of my head, I'd like to see Hugo Strange, Killer Moth, Cavalier, the female Spellbinder, the new female Crazy Quilt (according to wiki, she only appeared in Infinite Crisis as part of the SSoSV) ... just to name a few.

  • Well, there's the Gentleman Ghost, who is one of my all-time favorite villains (I *love* that visual!) and Nocturna, who I was happy to see reappear in Trinity.
  • The better less-used Batfoes I can think of who don't seem to have appeared recently - Dr. Tzin-Tzin, the Snowman - I don't happen to have great affection for. The less-familiar foes I like a bit more - the Terrible Trio, the Spook and Tweedledum and Tweedledee - have apparently appeared recently, and I don't know how they've been handled. A lot depends on how the villains are handled: I like them smart and formidable. The Cavalier started out smart, but was depicted as dumb in the 70s.

I don't know the stories, but Dr. No-Face and "Skull" Dugger would appear to have had good visuals, and the latter a good gimmick.

I'd happily vote for "no supervillain". Many good Batman stories don't have one.
  • The Ten-Eyed Man.
  • From what I recall, the Spook was beheaded in one of Morrison's first issues.
  • Five years ago or so, I would have demanded that Cat-Man (with a hyphen!) appear on this list. But good ole' Gail has done a bang up job with him. I would still love to see her address the issue of his "magic" cape, but I can wait.
    Who else?
Well, at the top of my list would be Kadaver, the guy obsessed with death and funerals. Now that could be creepy.
He's dead now, but Maxie Zeus triggers a tingle of interest in me.
  • What about Maxie Zeus' teen angst clone, Neo Maxie Zoom Dweebie? Photobucket

Check out the Secret Headquarters (my store) website! It's a pretty lame website, but I did it myself, so tough noogies

Listen to WOXY.com, it's the future of rock-n-roll!

  • Oh, he's out making himself a better citizen.
  • Batman's first supervillian, Doctor Death; altough his original story was deleted with crisis on infinite earths I understand a new Doctor Death appeared in 52, and, as far as I know, there has been nothing told about him, so it would be nice to know the story of Batman first enemy in current continuity.
  • If it's of interest, Earth One versions of Doctor Death and another early Batman foe, the Monk, appeared in the Bat-books in 1981/82. Also a gang with a dirigible led by one Colonel Blimp, presumably inspired by "The Batman Wars Against the Dirigible of Doom". Death resembled the original version (before he was burned) and sprinkled a hyper-allergen over Gotham.
  • I would say Cornelius Stirk, but I see that Kevin Smith just used him in Batman: The Widening Gyre. He's my favorite of the Wagner/Grant-created villains.
