Short films featuring DC comics' characters will be shown on the Cartoon Network channel in 2012. It would be interesting if persons from the indie film and indie comic book industries would be invited to use the company's characters.to tell stories.

I remember seeing that pilot episode. I too would have liked it to have become a regular tv series. I remember enjoying the Plasticman Comedy Adventure Hour. Heck, it is the main reason why I started to purchase Adventure comics when starman and aquaman shared billing with plas. I never saw the show when Penny and baby plas joined up with him tofight against crime.
I would love it if they decided to greenlight this version of Plastic Man!
Thanks for the information. It is a pity that it will not feature characters who do not have upcoming programmes.
I like your idea, Julian, but from what I've heard, these "short films" will be comprised mainly of continuing series -- most of which have already been announced.
The ones I can remember off the top of my head are:
Super Best Friends Forever - a Supergirl/ Batgirl/ Wonder Girl team-up series aimed specifically at young girls and created by the producer of the critically-acclaimed My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
Teen Titans - a "chibi-style" spinoff of the previous series with the original voice cast reprising their roles.
Plastic Man
The Doom Patrol
Batman - a claymation series produced the same animation company that makes the Wallace & Gromit films.
