DIE: LOADED KICKS OFF A DRAMATIC NEW STORY ARC THIS JULY

31134915695?profile=RESIZE_192X31134915863?profile=RESIZE_192XPORTLAND, Ore. 04/16/2026 — Bestselling creative duo Kieron Gillen (The Power Fantasy, The Wicked + The Divine) and Stephanie Hans (We Called Them Giants) will usher in an all-new story arc for Die: Loaded. Die: Loaded #7 will kick off a dramatic new chapter and hit shelves from Image Comics this July.

A missing party member. No way to get home. What to do? It’s time to get good. But when our cast is falling apart, can they even remember to take the first step?

"Die is a book driven by characters and their choices (mostly bad)," said Gillen. "Zero Sessions ended with one of them making perhaps the worst decision anyone's ever made in Die—and now we live (or don't) with the consequences. With this at the starting point, can any of them get good? Plus it's just a huge arc for all the fans of Die, with us revealing details of the world we've only vaguely hinted at before."

Over the course of its original run, Die topped Image Comics' sales charts, with multiple distributor-level sellouts and strong reorder activity fueling its rise. Often described as “goth Jumanji,” the series has gained a cult following since its 2019 debut and helped spark a wave of RPG-inspired storytelling.

Die: Loaded #7 will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, July 8:

Select praise for the Die series:

“Gillen subverts high fantasy adventure tropes with an infusion of creepy horror, resulting in an exploration of arrested adolescence and the effects of childhood trauma made truly haunting by Hans' realistic illustrations and Cowles' gloomy color palette.” —Library Journal

“Makes for a heady combination of fascinating worldbuilding, compellingly broken characters tearing each other apart (sometimes emotionally, sometimes literally), and vivid, striking artwork.” —io9/Gizmodo

"A deliciously dark Phantom Tollbooth-like journey told through a lens of broken humanity and a deconstruction of the role-playing game's roots. I am entranced." —Matthew Mercer, Critical Role

“Kieron Gillen and Stephanie Hans are a powerful merging of talents. Feels like a well-oiled team that’s been working together for years. Image Comics continues to innovate.” —Rick Remender, Deadly Class, The Sacrificers, Grommets

“Wonderfully nerdy and emotionally complicated and… utterly beautiful.” —The Hollywood Reporter

“A smart, gripping story about fantasy, gaming, aging and things that can’t be said.” —Al Ewing, Immortal Hulk

“A remarkable Jumanji-esque story for fantasy fans.” —GrimDark magazine

“If ever you’ve played a TTRPG and thought, ‘I’d love to just live in this world,’ this series is for you.” —The Comics Beat

Vampirella Bites Into Summer in Special

by Erica Schultz & Adriana Melo!

31134750267?profile=RESIZE_192X31134750282?profile=RESIZE_192X31134750456?profile=RESIZE_192X

April 13, Mt. Laurel, NJ: Dynamite Entertainment announces a sun-soaked showcase for the Daughter of Drakulon, as this July brings Vampirella Summer Special 2026 from the perfectly-paired team of Erica Schultz and Adriana Melo!

Even immortal vampires (or is she an alien? both!) need a little bit of time off for rest and relaxation. Diehard fans know too that Drakulonians do not share the weakness to sunlight that traditional undead vampires do, so she's totally clear to hit the beach. But despite being shore-compatible, other parts of Vampirella's life inevitably lead to complications in even the best planned vacation getaways!

Suddenly in "Rising from the Ashes" the raven-haired, sharp-toothed antiheroine finds herself a whopping 2,000 years in the past. Immediately up to her eyes in drama - instead of the surf she was relishing - it'll only get even crazier when the nearby volcano starts rumbling and is certainly not dormant. Vampi was looking for an island getaway, and she's getting more than she bargained for!

This epic, extra-sized issue is bloodsuckingly brought to fans by writer Erica Schultz. This marks a heralded return to Dynamite for her, following fan-favorite runs on Charmed and Xena. Her star has only soared even higher in the meantime, with prolific contributions to Marvel's X-Men, Daredevil, and Spider-Man franchises, including steering the first-ever Hallows' Eve series, as well as long runs with Spawn.

Schultz is joined by a Dynamite family newcomer in comparison, as beloved industry veteran Adriana Melo takes on the task of bringing this idyllic vacation gone wrong to the page, following only one past cover for Red Sonja during the run of her frequent collaborator Gail Simone. Melo is a perfect fit for Vampirella, with extensive and cherished contributions to titles including Birds of Prey, Power Girl, Witchblade, Ms. Marvel, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy, and more.

The Vampirella Summer Special 2026 is complemented by a trio of tantalizing covers. Melo herself as well as superstar Shannon Maer capture the seasonal spirit, and are joined by CucumberCosplay.

Collectors can also opt for the chase, with a premium mystery blind bag offering available, featuring three limited-edition variants of the issue.

Final artwork will be in color. Melo's gorgeous pencil and inking work is being showcased at this stage.

NO MAN’S LAND CREATOR SZYMON KUDRAŃSKI KICKS OFF NEW STORY ARC OF SOMETHING EPIC THIS JULY

31134916487?profile=RESIZE_192X31134916671?profile=RESIZE_192XPORTLAND, Ore. 04/14/2026 — From Szymon Kudrański, creator of No Man’s Land—currently in development as a feature film with A/vantage Pictures—comes the next chapter of the wondrously imaginative saga, Something Epic. Something Epic #13 will kick off an all-new story arc from Image Comics this July.

Kudrański will team up with the legendary Todd McFarlane (Spawn) for a highly collective cover and a variant version of it showcasing the raw art.

“Something Epic is the title that introduced me to readers as a solo creator and opened the door to expanding my one-man vision with projects like Blood Commandment and No Man’s Land," said Kudrański. "The core idea—imagination as a living realm filled with rich, original characters alongside legends, myths, and literary icons—creates endless potential for compelling, interconnected stories. I’m honored to have Todd McFarlane joining me on cover to launch this new story arc, which explores the darker, horror-driven corner of imagination—vampires, werewolves, ghouls… a return to my roots.”

In Something Epic #13, a mysterious tragedy shakes the Land of Horror—realm of the most legendary monsters ever imagined—and Noa and D-Ductive are called to investigate. But in a world ruled by darkness… every monster is a suspect.

Something Epic #13 will be available at comic book shops on Wednesday, July 15:

EXQUISITE CORPSES’ MURDEROUS MASCOT GETS A SPINOFF SERIES IN EXQUISITE CORPSES: RASCAL RANDY THIS JULY

31134919696?profile=RESIZE_192X31134920266?profile=RESIZE_192XPORTLAND, Ore. 04/16/2026 — Acclaimed writer Tyler Boss (You’ll Do Bad Things, What’s the Furthest Place from Here?), the scribe of Image Comics/Skybound bestselling series Universal Monsters: The Phantom of the Opera, and fan-favorite artist Dylan Burnett (Cosmic Ghost Rider, Arcade Kings) are joining forces for a new Exquisite Corpses spinoff featuring the terrifying character Rascal Randy. This five issue limited series produced by Tiny Onion reveals the origin story of the iconic bunny mascot killer and will hit shelves this July from Image Comics.

“From the moment I saw the full cast of killers for Exquisite Corpses, I, like most discerning readers, knew Randy would be the winner of the first season's game," said Boss. "Now while I still can’t say whether we’ve been proven correct or not, I can say the story Dylan and I have created for everyone’s favorite furry fiend is as sweet and cuddly as a porcupine."

Burnett added: “Bullies, homework, crushes, solving a string of brutal and bizarre murders perpetrated by a weirdo in a giant rabbit costume... Ah, to be young again.”

The sleepy little town of Aurora Springs, NY, has exactly one claim to fame: it’s the birthplace of Rascal Randy. Not the man in the suit—that man has never mattered. He was no one until he put the mascot head on for the first time… not until he felt the life leave someone’s body with his thickly furred gloves wrapped around them.

No, Aurora Springs is the birthplace of Rascal Randy the rabbit, who, once upon a time, was poised to become the greatest animated character this country had ever seen—until greed and tragedy changed his trajectory forever.

Witness the events before season one of Exquisite Corpses that made Rascal Randy New Jersey’s selection for America’s deadliest game. When chaos comes hopping into town, the secret sordid history of Rascal Randy will finally be revealed.

The launch issue will also feature highly collectible covers by top-tier artists such as Javier Pulido (Amazing Spider-Man, She-Hulk), Riley Rossmo (The Moon is Following Us), Brett Bean (D’orc, Dungeon Crawler Carl: Crocodile), and series artist Michael Walsh (The Silver Coin, Universal Monsters: Frankenstein). Walsh’s variant will come polybagged with a collectible trading card tied to the soon-to-launch Exquisite Corpses: The Game, which he co-created with the Tiny Onion team; the game will be available to back on Kickstarter this May.

The horror franchise is growing to include not just Exquisite Corpses: Rascal Randy, but also two other new spinoff limited series (Exquisite Corpses: Fox Mask Killer and Exquisite Corpses: Lone Gunman), along with an anthology one-shot (Exquisite Corpses: Book of the Dead) in addition to the upcoming second season, the feature film adaptation, and the soon-to-launch tabletop card game. Rascal Randy himself even made a special appearance with the Tiny Onion team at Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2) in his mascot suit, doing photo ops with fans to lovingly strangle them with his weapon of choice: his hands.

Exquisite Corpses: Rascal Randy will be the first series to spin off from the world after the conclusion of Exquisite Corpses Season One. The limited series will be colored by Eisner Award winner Jordie Bellaire (The Nice House on the Lake) and lettered by rising star Becca Carey (Absolute Wonder Woman).

DeMatteis, Christos Gage, MacKenzie Cadenhead, Shawn McManus, Todd Nauck, and Enid Balám, plus a classic tale from Bill Mantlo and Keith Giffen.

New York, NY— April 15, 2026 — Big things come in small, furry packages… and this July, Rocket Raccoon sets out to prove it with a 50th anniversary one-shot: ROCKET RACCON: ROCKET REWIND!

Buckle up and travel the stars as Rocket engages in over-the-top action and calamity across three all-new stories from a roster of titanic creators including writers J.M. DeMatteis, Christos Gage, and MacKenzie Cadenhead and artists Shawn McManus, Todd Nauck, and Enid Balám, plus a re-presentation of Rocket’s debut tale from co-creators Bill Mantlo and Keith Giffen.

Originally introduced in the pages of Marvel Preview #7 by Mantlo and Giffen, Rocket has blasted and jetpacked his way into becoming an integral part of the Marvel cosmic tapestry and a key figure (as well as the heart and soul) of numerous Guardians of the Galaxy team line-ups.

“Fans of Rocket Raccoon are going to love this special featuring all-new stories that span through his bold, adventurous, and sassy career,” explains Editor Mark Pannicia. “I’m excited to include the first appearance of Rocky Raccoon. That’s right, old bean, in that story by legendary comic creators Bill Mantlo and Keith Giffen, Rocket went by Rocky and inexplicably had a British accent. Wild and fun stuff!”

Follow the heavily armed rapscallion as he blazes new trails in locations both new and familiar across the following stories:

Rocket Raccoon encounters a mysterious galactic book collector before coming face-to-face with the one-and-only Rocky Raccoon (wait, what?!) in a brain-bending tale from writer J.M. DeMatteis and artist Shawn McManus.

In “BoomShakaLaka,” MacKenzie Cadenhead and Enid Balám take Rocket to a paradise planet full of good vibes and an immensely powerful artifact that’s just begging to be stolen by a cybernetically enhanced creature with a bad attitude. Know anybody like that?

Christos Gage and Todd Nauck set out to prove that size does matter in “The Fight in the Raccoon,” featuring an odd-couple team up of Hank Pym and Rocket as they fight back a massive invasion force in Sub-Atomica!

Plus, the original debut of Rocket by Bill Mantlo and Keith Giffen!

WITNESS SOME OF THE EARLIEST ENCOUNTERS BETWEEN THE ONE-MAN WAR ON CRIME AND THE WALL-CRAWLER IN NEW COMIC BOOK SERIES PUNISHER VS. SPIDER-MAN!

Dan Abnett and Matteo Della Fonte shine the spotlight on the early days of Peter Parker and Frank Castle’s not-so-friendly relationship this July.

31134921289?profile=RESIZE_192X31134921872?profile=RESIZE_192XNew York, NY— April 17, 2026 — This summer Peter Parker and Frank Castle take a walk down memory pain in PUNISHER VS. SPIDER-MAN, an all-new five issue limited series detailing some of the duo’s earliest encounters in the Marvel Universe.

Taking place shortly after Punisher’s debut dust-up with Spider-Man in the pages of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #129, writer Dan Abnett (IMPERIAL GUARDIANS) and artist Matteo Della Fonte (NOVA: CENTURION) force Peter Parker and Frank Castle to set aside their differences for the greater good… until they inevitably turn on one another once again.

“I'm very happy to be writing these two characters in a head-to-head together, and to be revisiting the Punisher, a character I haven’t written since YEAR ONE in the nineties,” explains Abnett. “The series is a whole lot of fun and full of big action, and some genuine surprises as they learn stuff about each other for the first time. That’s the real joy of going back to this pivotal early point in continuity: there’s a freshness in their encounters and interactions that I think readers are really going to get a kick out of.”

THE PUNISHER AND SPIDER-MAN, two of the most notorious names in New York City with very different approaches to making the Big Apple safer (or not, depending on who you ask!). Brought together by happenstance and forced to stay that way by an ally from Frank Castle’s past in need, will the web-slinger and the gunslinger be able to begrudgingly set aside their differences before they find themselves at one another’s throats?!

Check out the main cover for PUNISHER VS. SPIDER-MAN #1 by Jonas Scharf and a variant by Netho Diaz, plus interior pages by Matteo Della Fonte below. And for more early days Spider-Man vs. Punisher action, look for the AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #129 FACSIMILE EDITION [NEW PRINTING] in comic shops this July.

HEL ON EARTH!

On the farthest edges of the solar system, Knull, God of the Void, builds a brand-new army to destroy Earth...but Hela of Asgard might have gotten there first – as she makes planetfall with a legion of the galaxy’s deadliest symbiotes! Two of the most powerful evils in the galaxy are at war... with Venom, Mary Jane, Dylan Brock and the entire Marvel super hero pantheon caught right in the middle!

In a recent interview with Marvel.com, Ewing explained how both his current work on Venom and Thor led to this monumental moment, “The two books have very different plotlines, but sometimes the plot of one book provides the opportunity to ramp things up in another one. The ongoing Thor plot line, where Thor is dead and Midgard has forgotten that the Norse Gods ever walked the Earth outside of the myths, has given Hela, Norse Goddess of Death, a golden opportunity to take the realm of Midgard for herself. She's going all in by stealing the power of the returned Knull, King in Black, which obviously careens right into Venom.”

Over the last few weeks, several QUEEN IN BLACK tie-in series and issues were also announced. Check out a handy checklist so you don’t miss a single pivotal chapter!

Head to Marvel.com to read more of Al Ewing’s interview and see an exclusive sneak peek. Preorder QUEEN IN BLACK #1 at your local comic shop and ask about the availability of VENOMWORLD BOUNCERS. For more information, visit Marvel.com.

  • Speaking of What If..?, I thought the Watcher was murdered and his eyeball stolen. Is that no longer the case?

  • Interesting. I've aways been a sucker for a good (and sometimes, not so good) What If? story, but none of those grab my interest at all, possibly because the stories that they're riffing on didn't interest me, either.

    • I'm embarrassed to say that, at the time I read it, I didn't realize that "Kraven's Last Hunt" was an event-sort of story that they'd be riffing on years later. I just thought, "Oh, they're getting rid of a B-list villain who never should have been a threat to Spider-Man to begin with, but they're giving him a big exit because Ditko created him." I was fine -- more than fine -- with Kraven being gone for good.

      Silly me.
