Ok, how about this for an idea. We take it in turns to post a favourite (British spelling) comic cover every day. This went really well on the comic fan website that I used to frequent. What we tried to do was find a theme or subject and follow that, until we all got bored with that theme. I'd like to propose a theme of letters of the alphabet. So, for the remainder of October (only 5 days) and all of November, we post comic cover pictures associated with the letter "A". Then in December, we post covers pertaining to the letter "B". The association to the letter can be as tenuous as you want it to be. For example I could post a cover from "Adventure Comics" or "Amazing Spider Man". However Spider Man covers can also be posted when we're on the letter "S". Adventure Comic covers could also be posted when we're on the letter "L" if they depict the Legion of Super Heroes. So, no real hard, fast rules - in fact the cleverer the interpretation of the letter, the better, as far as I'm concerned.
And it's not written in stone that we have to post a cover every day. There may be some days when no cover gets posted. There's nothing wrong with this, it just demonstrates that we all have lives to lead.
If everyone's in agreement I'd like to kick this off with one of my favourite Action Comic covers, from January 1967. Curt Swan really excelled himself here.

Perhaps I could put it this way: the comic artist who I loved more than Kirby, Ditko and Kubert combined, has just died. If I was to list the ten most important influences on my life, he would be one of them. I feel it's our duty (as a contemporary comic cover posting group) to honor the guy. Unlike other themes it won't take me any time at all to round up 31 magnificent Adams covers.
Parents, as a theme works well for me in June because it's Father's day on June 19th, in England as well as the US.
But, I'm happy to listen to other points of view.
Let's just agree that Neal Adams covers will be for May. (Peter has decided to sit out May. JD and I had no objection.)
Parents will be June.
Fairgrounds and Carnivals will be July.
Sounds good to me, Richard. Here's one final "Unexpected Green" from me before I go quiet (though I will be back briefly to provide an updated index of themes).

Well said.

Sounds like a plan.
I discovered that I have a transition cover. GCD tells me that Neal Adams inked this one over Curt Swan's pencils.
Here is a SUGGESTION:

Why not maintain the index in the initial post to this thread? That way, it's readily accessible at any time to anyone who would care to consult it without having to search. You couldn't edit it, but Steve could. All you would have to do is PM it to him and he could add it to the bottom of the post. Then one of you could post "Index updated with April 2022 results" or something. Just a thought.
Since the floor seems to be open to them, here's ANOTHER SUGGESTION:
Why don't we have other months dedicated to a specific artist?
Sometime after Neal Adams we should honor George Perez because he sadly announced late last year that his remaining time on this mortal coil is limited.
But in future months we could spotlight other creators past and present like (in no particular order) Curt Swan, Mike Grell, Dave Cockrum, Jose Luis Garcia Lopez, Joe Kubert, Alex Ross, Jack Kirby, etc.
Thoughts? Feedback?
I think we should see how this next month goes. Even with it being appropriate to make next month a tribute, I can't get fired up about doing an artist's work for a month. This will be the first month where I doubt I'll look for subs if someone posts something I was going to post. I'll likely just skip a day. But I know a lot of people are huge fans of particular artists so, as a suggestion, it has merit. A month of famous artists just isn't my cup of Lee.
May 2022 - Neal Adams.
