Ok, how about this for an idea. We take it in turns to post a favourite (British spelling) comic cover every day. This went really well on the comic fan website that I used to frequent. What we tried to do was find a theme or subject and follow that, until we all got bored with that theme. I'd like to propose a theme of letters of the alphabet. So, for the remainder of October (only 5 days) and all of November, we post comic cover pictures associated with the letter "A". Then in December, we post covers pertaining to the letter "B". The association to the letter can be as tenuous as you want it to be. For example I could post a cover from "Adventure Comics" or "Amazing Spider Man". However Spider Man covers can also be posted when we're on the letter "S". Adventure Comic covers could also be posted when we're on the letter "L" if they depict the Legion of Super Heroes. So, no real hard, fast rules - in fact the cleverer the interpretation of the letter, the better, as far as I'm concerned.
And it's not written in stone that we have to post a cover every day. There may be some days when no cover gets posted. There's nothing wrong with this, it just demonstrates that we all have lives to lead.
If everyone's in agreement I'd like to kick this off with one of my favourite Action Comic covers, from January 1967. Curt Swan really excelled himself here.

Kamandi's original series actually ended in the 20th century!
Lois, after taking a time-trip to 4068, believes that Superman will soon die in her own era, and marries him in a secret ceremony when she returns. However, his "death" turns out to have been a historical mistake, and they both agree to annul the marriage. Now, that is one hell of a twisted plot synopsis!
I don't know if anyone has noticed, but this thread has been viewed over a quarter of a million times.
Brave and the Bold 157 was actualy Kamandi's second (and unfortunately last) appearance. Batman originally traveled to Kamandi's timeline in B&B 120. The headshot in the banner might be Jack Kirby's work, but only Jim Aparo is accredited for art. (Image courtesy of the Grand Comics Database.)
Kamandi made one last appearance in 1983 before the Crisis turned him (temporarily) into Tommy Tommorrow!
Journey into Mystery #23. Something you don't see every day.
That's how I feel trying to find parking in a big city.
This is a bit of a cheat, but the cover certainly implies some kind of time-travel, so I'm using it:
In fact, this "Annie Oakley" is a modern country gal, named for the famous sharpshooter.
And the story basically treats her as though she were her famous namesake.
At the time, the World's Finest team were concurrent with the Axis Leaders - so I'm cheating? Sue me ;D
Superman is one up on Batman when it comes to time traveling Jack Kirby creations because he's also worked with OMAC, the One Man Army Corps from the time before Kamandi in the King's chronology. (Image courtesy of the Grand Comics Database.)
