Ok, how about this for an idea. We take it in turns to post a favourite (British spelling) comic cover every day. This went really well on the comic fan website that I used to frequent. What we tried to do was find a theme or subject and follow that, until we all got bored with that theme. I'd like to propose a theme of letters of the alphabet. So, for the remainder of October (only 5 days) and all of November, we post comic cover pictures associated with the letter "A". Then in December, we post covers pertaining to the letter "B". The association to the letter can be as tenuous as you want it to be. For example I could post a cover from "Adventure Comics" or "Amazing Spider Man". However Spider Man covers can also be posted when we're on the letter "S". Adventure Comic covers could also be posted when we're on the letter "L" if they depict the Legion of Super Heroes. So, no real hard, fast rules - in fact the cleverer the interpretation of the letter, the better, as far as I'm concerned.
And it's not written in stone that we have to post a cover every day. There may be some days when no cover gets posted. There's nothing wrong with this, it just demonstrates that we all have lives to lead.
If everyone's in agreement I'd like to kick this off with one of my favourite Action Comic covers, from January 1967. Curt Swan really excelled himself here.

Some fun from March 1962 on an otherwise dreary weekend. (Image courtesy of the Grand Comics Database.)
Two Journeys numbered 27 from Atlas.
This Comics Buyer's Guide came out very near April 5, 1994, the death of Kurt Cobain. His suicide led to conspiratorial speculation, and the establishment, in the minds of a new generation, of the legend of the "27 Club."

Brave and the Bold #127--the last of the Batman/WILDCAT teamups and my second favorite! Here the Feline Fighter is not crippled by guilt or old age. He actually helps without any baggage! Of course, this story could have been written with anyone else taking Wildcat's spot!
As previously mentioned, except for Supergirl who was still either a back up or lead feature until the 1970s, the rest of the main Superman Family had their own titles in the 1960s, including this character. (March 1962 issue courtesy of the Grand Comic Database.)
New Adventure #27 (with a rare yellow shark) and Tomahawk #27
Two of my nieces have birthdays this month. The one who lives local to me has hers today, so I found a birth month/year comic....
...that also includes her life-long soccer career (she played varsity and went on to be assistant coach for a couple of years). She's now a nurse, married with one child, and one large overly-friendly dog.

Adventure Comics has a great history as an anthology series, and also has many years of association with the Superman Family of characters, but I have absolutely no idea what to think of attempting to give the Bizarros a try. (March 1962 cover courtesy of the Grand Comics Database.)
