  • Back in the late 80s early 90s UK TV was showing Sumo highlights. I watched enough to get quite interested,  then it stopped. Maybe they lost the rights or not enough people were watching,

Then recently I found you can watch highlights on NHK Japan or YouTube. This got me interested again and now I watch regularly.

One of the aspects I find appealing is a big wrestler can be beaten by a small wrestler. Relatively speaking of course, a "small" Sumo wrestler is still a big guy in the real world.

This reminded me of all the classic Hulk Vs Thing clashes. So I had a go at imagining what that would look like.

Traditionally Ben couldn't compete because he can't grow a top knot, but today it's allowed if the wrestler has a completely shaved head.

    • I saw one guy who had just gotten promoted and his hair wasn't long enough to form a topknot yet.

    • Yes I saw that, the traditional rules have relaxed a lot. Once non Japanese wrestlers weren't allowed, now there are foreign Yokozuna ( Grand Champion).

  • I'm sure this joke has been made in England, and I mean no disrespect to Islington's footballers, but I'm not certain that they thought through the merch implications of naming the team, The Arsenal.
