Has anybody received that message? I have, and I have to believe it, because Ning tells me so. And because I was suddenly unable to upload art. To alleviate the situation, I have committed more money monthly for disc space.
Interestingly, when I checked the disc space log, all that seemed to count against it was jpgs, pngs and gifs. (At least on the first three pages.) So going forward, I plan to use less art. And when I get some time off from work, I'll go back through my comics guides (probably the biggest offender) and delete art.
I also noted that there was no art (on the first three pages) from before 2023. That must have been when I upgraded to Ning 3.0 and tons of art disappeared. Or maybe there's an auto-delete function I don't know about.
Of course, I don't think we're really out of space. This is at least the third time I've had to upgrade at three different hosts because the site's "too big." Maybe it's too big, maybe it's not. But I know that no matter how much I trim, it will remain "too big." Because I have cut websites to the bare minimum before, and still been "too big." No matter what they say, the point is to force me to pay more money, not to reduce content. But I'll trim anyway, for what it's worth.
And I should probably re-think how I approach the site in general. I should probably be less comprehensive -- using fewer previews, and maybe dropping "Coming Comics" altogether. Maybe post only the press releases that I think are of direct interest to active users, or where I have a reaction.
I don't know what I'm going to do. Suggestions welcome. In the meantime, we have a little more space.

A few of us were victims on the "A Cover A Day" thread last night. Top of page 3190.
While I can see deleting no longer needed images, what about size reducing the necessary ones when possible?
So, when the older images on all threads started disappearing a few years ago, this was probably the same effort to get more money. Now they are just stopping new images for the same purpose.
Every JPG I upload is less than 200 kilo bytes
I just tried to upload a 111 kB file and was unable to do so.
You should be able to. What message did youget?
It was saying only that there was an error. Just now, though, it let me upload the image.
I haven't had any issues that I recall, myself, but I'll lay off posting random images just in case.
