...Some years ago ~ IIRC , in Comic Buyers' Guide , in its magazine years ~
I read of an ADVENTURES OF ELIWALLACH independent , I guess B&W , comic book , fully liscenced ~ It featured stories of Wallach as characters of the sort he was noted for in his films ~ Like the old ALAN LADD (which I never read) or BOB HOPE or JERRY LEWIS (those I've read) comics ~ drawings of Wallach " as " various kinds of characters .
I searched for it just now , but could find no listing that mentioned it .
I assembled the wire obit for my newspaper, so I read quite a bit from Mr. Wallach. He loved being "Ugly," and enjoyed it when people would whistle the theme song at him. He was a method actor, so he invented a back story for his character and adhered to it.
Interestingly, he said the most mail he got overall was for his one-off appearance as Mr. Freeze in Batman!
Catwoman, too, was played by three different actresses. (Eartha Kitt and Julie Newmar on the TV show, Lee Meriwether for the movie.) The Riddler was played by two different actors, Frank Gorshin and John Astin.
What was interesting about the Riddler was the first actor returned to the part. John Astin made a great Gomez Adams but he was miscast as Riddler. Obviously a difficult part to play. You'd think Jim Carrey would have been a good Riddler, but...

Yeah, he was a great actor.
Mention Eli Wallach and I immediately think of him in The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Wonder how he felt about being the "Ugly" one?

...I thought that was Otto Preminger , CC !?
Mr. Freeze was played by a different actor every time he appeared. George Sanders played him first, and, I thought, the best.
