  • Got to my local around 11:00 a.m. Elected not to stick around until 4:00 p.m. to see Jim Shooter.
  • Thor/Captain America

    Atomic Robo

    Amazing Spider-man

I've only read the Atomic Robo. I get the FCBD issue every year, always a fun read.

I got the opportunity to help Dagwan out at his shop. I did my shopping before hand and started around 11. He had me greeting customers at the door and manning the tent sale outside. I ended up staying untill closing time because I was having a fun time. There was a lot first time customers that came through yesterday. Hopefully they'll come back. It was a fun day.

  • I didn't even bother to go this year. I was too busy and out of money. While I enjoy the freebies, I more look forward to the accompanying sales!
  • The kid we usually borrow for FCBD had a band thing to attend. I'll pick over the leftovers this Wednesday.

  • Well, for once, I got free stuff on FCBD!

One of my customers is moving out of town, and he brought in two boxes of graphic novels he was unwilling to transport to his new, smaller, apartment. In the boxes he brought me were also Seasons 1-4 of Smallville (which I've seen, once) and Seasons 1-4 of Futurama (which I've only ever seen like, 2 episodes) on DVD, and one-foot tall semi-poseable (think Barbie level poseability) figures of Hawkgirl and Wonder Woman that have not left my daughter's side since.

I used to listen to WOXY.com; It was the future of rock-n-roll! RIP WOXY

  • "The kid we usually borrow"?

  • Forgot all about it.

Remembered on Friday and again on Sunday, Saturday....

  • I got the Mouse Guard/Dark Crystal flipbook. The Stuff of Legend and whatever it was with flipbook (obviously left a lasting impression).  The Atomic Robo one, and the John Stanley comic.

My shop also has some sets on sale, so I picked up those war comics one shots that DC put out last year half-off.

Dags, nice to see you benefit as well. Nice haul, man.

  • The girls seemed most excited by the Mouse Guard and Green Lantern books.  Rose wanted a Green Lantern baseball cap and wore it all weekend.
  • "The kid we usually borrow"?

We usually borrow a kid.* Otherwise we don’t go at all. The mother is a business associate of Tracy’s. We used to get together quite frequently, but haven’t met face to face since FCBD last year. Too bad for the kid; he usually benefits from me culling my collection. Too bad for me, too. Last year I gave him a whole stack of Nova’s when I bought Essential Nova for myself, and I’m curious to learn what he thought of them.

*(With his parents’ permission, of course.)
