There's no specific place to talk about comics-related theater, so I'll put this here. I had a chance to interview Fred Van Lente and his wife, Crystal Skillman, for the Village Voice, about their new play, King Kirby, opening this weekend at the Comic Book Theater Festival at the Brick Theater in Brooklyn. Give my article a read... and if you're in the area, be sure to check out the play -- it sounds terrific!

...(Haven't even read the piece yet .) Think Stan Lee will sue ???????
...Can you point me to more about this Comic Book Theater Festival , please ? I couldn't find a whole lot in the VOICE .
Including everything , even shows that may have come and gone already .
BTW , what do you know about the L.A.-staged AMERICAN SPLENDOR play that was referenced in the AS movie ? I think I may have seen reference to there even being two different AS plays...
It's described as even-handed. If he hasn't sued yet after all the people who have bad-mouthed him I don't think he will now.
I think that if Kirby (and Ditko) were any good at talking to the press they wouldn't have been eclipsed by Lee in the eyes of the public.

The Comic Book Theater Festival is at the Brick Theater in Brooklyn -- this is the second year they've thrown it. You can see the other shows at the link. Masterpiece Comics is the only one I've seen any piece of, so far.
...Thank you .
