And does Kevin Smith have any plans himself to do something about "the female body stereotype"? His track record doesn't look promising in that regard ...
We watched it last night. It out-bangs The Big Bang Theory in terms of geekdom (comic book geekdom if not science nerd geekdom). We'll likely continue to watch it as long as it's on, but I don't expect it will last very long. Real true-to-life geeks aren't as funny as (and are much more scary than) TV sit-com geeks to the straights and mainstreamers.
Its initial run is six episodes. It's really geek Pawn Stars but I could do without the 10th grade humor. But Kevin Smith does have great screen presence.
Is that PAWN series the one set in Vegas with a possibly mildly brain-damaged/autistic?? guy called Chumlee or the one set in Detroit ?
Or still another one ?

Upon further thought, I didn't care for the show. I guess Pawn Stars is a big enough hit to make a "geek" pawn stars but there's more to comic shops than that. I know it's only been one episode but it'd be nice if they showed people shopping in there. It looks like the shops always vacant. The switching back and forth between the stuff in the shop and the podcast was kinda jarring. I'd like if they focused more on people coming in and shopping. Also focus on stuff going on in the current comics industry. As of right now, if I was not a comics reader and watching this show I don't think I'd want to ever go in a comic shop. Also the show isn't that funny. I like Kevin Smith but I didn't laugh at many of the jokes. A hour is too long for this show, too. Thirty minutes is sufficent.
