45 years ago someone gave me a copy of Cheyenne Kid #72. I discovered comics and amassed a collection that was at one point nearly 3000 books. I still have the Cheyenne Kid other comics I have kept. I sold others to get me more, or lost some in moving and sometime gave away.

My earliest exposure was to the British series Rupert the Bear. Not sure if we brought this with us from England or if it was sent to us later. This was in a form similar to Little Golden Books, being thin and having hard covers. The dialogue between the animal schoolboys was under the pictures, not in balloons. My earliest actual comic book was, almost certainly, a Carl Barks reprinted Donald Duck. Have no idea of the actual issue.
Not the first one to do it, but welcome to the Round Table.
My First Fifteen.
My very first was Action Comics #434, cover dated April 1974.
Boy, have I been at it for a while now!
But truthfully, I miss those more carefree days of the Silver/Bronze age. *sigh*
It all began here for me...
