While looking at past discussions, I realized that I have been posting here for exactly one year. Before this, I was only at the Mister Silver Age form, which I still miss. I still am only here since I have neither the time or the knowledge of any capatable sites and I'm happy here.
I have been answered by men whose work I have read and enjoyed and made some good friends and colleagues along the way. For most of my life, I have been in a hobby with no one to talk about it with. So I am content. Hopefully I have not irritated anyone too much.
Anyway, I just wanted to say "Thank you" to all of you who write, post, debate and argue. You all have my respect, gratitude and friendship!

We used to have a tradition of greeting every new member with a (laurel and) hearty "Welcome, we're glad you're here!" Here at the new Board, the set-up is such that I find it much harder to keep track of new folks, and I suspect that some people fall between the cracks and don't get that greeting. But we surely do appreciate everyone's insight and contributions.
And those "we"s above encompass everybody, from the day they join. So I'm speaking to you and on your behalf. (How rude!)
I've thoroughly enjoyed reading your posts for the last year, and I hope you keep posting here even if you do find a more compatible site.

Doctor Hmmm? is right. In fact, I was the one who started that tradition.
Another tradition was " _____________ is right!" This is a new board, however, that's still developing its own traditions, its own rhythms, its own catchphrases, its own persona. But one thing that has carried over, we hope, is that it remains a welcoming home for those who wish to share and enjoy the wonders of the four-color world.

Talking about comics on this board beats my previous strategy, which was to 'lend' comics to my friends and then talk to them about them. This involved being sanguine about it when they told me months later - "I'm sure I gave those back to you" "Well, I don't have them anymore" and the classic "No, you never gave me those."
