  • I remember a noteable run on Defenders, but when he really came to my attention was at Valiant in the '90s. At Marvel he was a minor talent, but at Valiant he was a "Big Shot."

  • When the Moon Knight character debuted in Werewolf by Night #31, Don Perlin was doing the interior pencils. He was one of several artists following Mike Ploog on the title, an almost thankless task. Those of us (most of us) who rightfully praise the superstar artists often fail to give enough credit to the artists who keep the comics coming by just doing their jobs. IIRC, Mike Ploog left comics because the money was better working on illustrations for films.
