  • On a fundamental level, I say Jonah, because in his heart of hearts he knows better, but is too cowardly to do better ... and he knows that, too.
  • Initial reaction - Stagg
  • ...Simon - remember that early-90s METAMORPHO series where his ambition was to coax Sapphire into bed with him ?????????

I know I'm going to regret hearing the answer, but ask I must: What are you talking about?

...In the story , Stagg's , expliciyly stated , ambition was to coas (not force) Sapphire Stagg , his adult daughter , into bed with him ! ( Spoilers ahead...) He didn't want to force her , rather , be proud of his clevernessin coaxing her to asquesience(??) .
This came a while , IIRC , after a JLI/JLE crossover that finally firmly tipped Simon Stagg into " truly evil " status , after which the whole issue seemed to be ignored for a while...Until this story came up,
  • That's...I wonder who greenlit that story.
  • I have that mini-series but no memory of THAT!!!
  • ...I do recall that .

      He didn't suceed , incidentally .

  • Simon Stagg. I came on to DC in 1989, and Simon Stagg was the first "evil industrialist" I ever knew in the pages of JLE, before I even started reading Superman, and thus before reading about Lex Luthor.

As for Jameson, we've been shown his human side a few times in the past couple years, at least, since I've been reading Marvel. As far as I know, that hasn't happened with Simon Stagg in the last 20+ years (God, has it been that long?).
